NICHE vs. DESIGNER — Which Side Are You On?
This is one of the oldest debates in the fragrance world - and opinions run HOT. NICHE FRAGRANCES: Crafted by independent houses obsessed with artistry over mass appeal. Think Amouage, Creed, Serge Lutens. Bold, complex, unapologetically unique. You wear niche and you know no one else in the room is wearing the same thing. But you're paying for the privilege. DESIGNER FRAGRANCES — The Chanels, the Diors, the Tom Fords. Masterfully blended, backed by decades of heritage, and worn by people who know what they're doing. Dior Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel are bestsellers for a reason — they're refined, proven, and never embarrassing. The debate: Is niche fragrance the pinnacle of personal expression — or is it overpriced elitism dressed up as art? And are designer houses underrated gems hiding in plain sight? Tell us: Team Niche or Team Designer? Vote below šŸ‘‡ — and tell me which house or specific fragrance makes your case? Roast the other camp respectfully — this is a gentleman's debate after all. šŸ˜„

Superdrug UK Perfume Pods - One Time Free Fill Offer
Quick note for UK peeps who might not be aware. Superdrug offer a service where they’ll give you a free fill from a curated fragrance selection on purchase of a Perfume Pod (a 5ml travel atomiser). The pod costs Ā£8. Apparently, it’s everything but ā€œpremiumā€ fragrances, but some stores are more loose with that definition than others. It’s also dependant on what testers they have. I bought one yesterday, and got a free 5ml of Stronger With You Absolutely. There were many others of interest to me too. Worth a look!

🚨New Pickups🚨 + Some thoughts…
Yes, from the local pharmacy again! Ā· Davidoff: Cool Water EDT - $24 I already had the Intense version first. I both this one out of nostalgia. It reminds me my first trip to Spain and Portugal in 1992; it was my signature scent then. Ā· Dolce & Gabbana: Devotion Parfum - $68 I already had the EDP, which I like a lot although it is polarizing. The Parfum smoothens out the rough edges around the coffee note, making it more sophisticated and mass appealing. Ā· Lattafa: Bade’e Al Oud Sublime - $26 An alternative to Kayali: Eden Juicy Apple | 01 EDP. For most, this one might come across too fruity and feminine leaning at the first sniff. However, the dry down smoothens a lot and feels perfectly unisex. I wait this long to get it at a reasonable price, just to complete the collection I wanted to have from this line. WHY I’M SHARING ALL OF THIS? FOR THE RECORD: I just want to make a point about the plurality of this hobby. I like to collect fragrances, regardless brands, cost, or subjective quality. For many this is a waste of money that I should save to commit to a curated expensive ā€œtop notch qualityā€ niche fragrances collection. I understand their reasoning, but they are reflecting them selfs on me, that it is not the way I enjoy this hobby. I love niche expensive fragrances, and I have them in my collection. But I have never and I will never pay the ridiculous amount of money they ask for them, I don't have it, and even if I have it, I will not pay it. I have bought my niche fragrances at the best discounted prices. I think that it’s very nice to have a curated expensive niche collection. If that is your thing, good for you! For me that is boring. I love and enjoy having as many options as possible at the best prices ever, that is what makes me happy, and no argument will take that away. There is space for everything and everyone in this community and no one has to be ashamed for sharing their experiences, thoughts, choices and fragrances passion. So, let people enjoy this hobby the way they like to and be happy (as you do), stop criticizing, mind your own business, and let us all enjoy our selves. Shall we?

Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif by Chanel
Decided to wear this one today, it’s a woody & amber fragrance, leaning more masculine/mature profile. Although it’s more suited for cooler weather and night time, today I had a business lunch and I wanted to wear something professional. Something rare happened in the morning though, first my wife asked what was I wearing because she didn’t like it so much, then her sister asked what she (my wife) was wearing, I asks if it was me because my wife said something about my fragrance and her sister then said that smells like older people and she used an example of her grandmother 🫢. Although we laughed I questioned but also later I kept smelling myself because it has a strong projection and longevity and I forget about it. Then something good happened, at lunch my Dad told me that I smell good, 3 hours after that we hugged and said goodbye and he told me again that he really loved that fragrance and asks me what it was. In conclusion, I love the masculine/mature scent and also the projection & longevity but not all people are going to like this fragrance. Hope you had a good day today Gents!
