Finally getting to my decant after a few wears of the OG. Reflection 45 is an extrait released in 2021, created by the same perfumer (Lucas Sieuzac) as the original. It's a concentrated version of the original Reflection Man. It’s the same woody floral musk DNA in a bolder, richer presentation. It’s a luxurious, high quality scent that’s denser and slightly more resinous. It has excellent longevity and strong presence, though projection becomes more intimate after the first couple of hours. It’s slightly more challenging than the OG due to its performance. Both share the same core DNA - clean, floral woody with iris, neroli/jasmine florals, and creamy sandalwood. But 45 amps it up dramatically due to the concentration. In short: If you want fresh, easy to wear elegance go original Reflection. If you want deeper and longer lasting grab 45. Both are highly regarded Amouage staples, but 45 feels like a bolder evolution for those who already love the original.

This week, I had the pleasure of trying out my sample of Halfeti by Penhaligon's, and I can confidently say this modern classic truly embodies a gentlemanly fragrance. Upon the initial spray, I was greeted with the refreshing aroma of green pine needles and rich cedar wood. This combination sets a sophisticated tone right from the start. After about half a minute, a clean citrus note joins the woody opening, adding a bright and invigorating aspect to the scent. Approximately ten minutes in, the fragrance evolves, revealing a light, fresh rose complemented by nutmeg, which gradually takes the lead over the citrus notes while the woody notes remain steadfast. As the fragrance develops further into the drydown around the 20-minute mark, the scent transforms into a prominent cedar wood base, intertwined with a sweet amber that harmonizes beautifully with the wood. This balance creates a warm, inviting finish that feels both elegant and comforting. In terms of performance, Halfeti excels in a professional office setting. While it lingers nicely on the skin, the projection is moderate, ensuring it doesn't overwhelm the space around you. I found that it projected well for about two hours before settling closer to the skin, but I could still catch whiffs of it by the end of my workday. This makes it an ideal choice for an office environment, where you want to make a statement without being overpowering. Overall, Halfeti is an excellent option for anyone seeking a classic, masculine scent suitable for a nice business-casual atmosphere. Its unique blend of notes and balanced performance make it a standout choice for the modern gentleman.
