I'm starting off my Saturday with this beautiful Christmas gift from my wife, and here are my notes: Opens with a touch of sweet citrus, cardemom & saffron. There is a slight chemical smell from the floral absolutes (that apparently I'm sensitive to in different fragrances) that fades in minutes. It quickly becomes, warm spicy, blend of florals, with some amber in the background. Floral notes also provide some sweetness. Ylang and jasmine can be sickly sweet, but they are so smoothly blended here. No woods are listed, but I'm guessing the labdanum, tonka and tolu balsam work to give the florals a soft, woody counterbalance. At 45 min it is medium tone, with moderate sillage & proj. Some Xerjoffs are shape-shifters, and morph from one kind of fragrance the next, but Black Moonlight is relatively linear, in the best way. As it dries down, the notes soften and meld together, maintaining its medium-toned, semi-sweet, smooth, warm, spicy, floral, woody construction from beginning to end. At 90 mins, the fragrance is mild with steady, mild sillage, and will remain this way for hours. At 3 hours, the vapors are steady, stable and mild. I see this as an elegant, elegant/casual, social, date night, special occasion type of fragrance. Sorry guys, NOT a gym scent! 😉😄🏋️‍♀️I would definitely recommend getting a sample, and enjoy!
