SOTD: Stronger With You Tobacco
I was planning on wearing Stronger With You Sandalwood today since I just got it in, but decided to go with Stronger With You Tobacco instead because I’ve had it for a while and never really gave it a full wear. It’s overcast here in Southern California and looks like rain, so this felt like the right kind of day for something warmer and cozier. First spray: 9:25 a.m. Opening (9:25–9:40): Right away, I got tobacco, but not in an in-your-face way. It’s very subtle and smooth. The black and pink pepper add warmth rather than sharp spice, and the overall opening still clearly has that Stronger With You DNA, just toned down and less sweet. Mid development (around 9:50–10:30): As it settled, the sweetness started to come through from the roasted chestnut and vanilla, but it never went syrupy. The tobacco stayed present in the background the whole time, acting more like an anchor than a statement note. By ~10:30–11:00 a.m. (now): About an hour and a half in, this has clearly settled into the mid. The sweetness and tobacco have blended together into a soft pipe tobacco vibe. Cozy, warm, and rounded. Still very recognizably Stronger With You, but the tobacco tempers the sweetness in a really nice way. Projection right now is still around a foot and a half to two feet, which is solid for this stage of wear. Overall, I’m really enjoying this. I like the Stronger With You DNA in general, but this version works especially well for me. I’m starting to notice that tobacco-based fragrances are something I naturally gravitate toward, especially when they’re done in a smooth, wearable way like this. Definitely glad I gave this one a proper wear today.
