I had to get up early this morning and will be heading out to a few nursing homes and assisted living centers to check on some of my drivers and touch base with the staff to see how everything is going. For something like that, I really don’t want to wear anything heavy, challenging, or overly loud. I wanted something clean, fresh, masculine, easy to wear and, most importantly, non-offensive. That’s where Polo 67 EDT fits perfectly. You get that bright bergamot and fresh pineapple up front with an aquatic freshness, then it settles into vetiver, sandalwood and patchouli. It isn’t trying to reinvent perfumery, but sometimes that is exactly what you need. It just smells good, clean and put together. Performance is actually pretty respectable for this type of fresh EDT. Figure roughly 5–6 hours, with the better projection and sillage coming during the first 1–2 hours before it gradually moves closer to the skin. With the size of my collection, I certainly have plenty of more complicated fragrances I could have reached for, but there is a time and place for everything. Walking through nursing homes and assisted living facilities early in the morning is not where I need to announce myself with my fragrance. Sometimes the right fragrance is simply the one that fits what you’re doing.

I was around 14 yrs old when I got a bottle of Preferred Stock for xmas. I probably went through 5-8 bottles of the stuff during my high school years. Then when I moved out on my own, perfume was a luxury a poor working teen couldn't justify spending his money on... so i wore nothing, but deodorant, for many years. Wearing Sauvage Elixir today, and it has a faint resemblance to my old favorite. (They share a number of notes) What was you first fragrance? Is there a modern scent that reminds you of it?
