Next live 5 day challenge announcement + New AI experience
Hey everyone, Jim here. Three things announced today. 1. The next 5-Day Challenge kicks off August 31: Free, live, and rebuilt from the ground up. This is the best version we've ever run. Save your spot here. Then do the part that actually decides whether you show up. Open your own calendar, block the hour on all five days, and set two reminders. For brains like ours, if it's not in the calendar it doesn't exist. Do it now, while this post is still on your screen. It takes two minutes. 2. Still finishing something something? You have until July 20 ⚠️ If you're working through the ADHD Focus Reset or the current 5-Day Challenge, they stay open through Monday July 20. After that everything closes until August 31. 3. New onboarding, and a new AI experience: The ADHD Operating Manual. The first section is free for every member, so you can try it before you decide. The full version is $27 right now instead of $99. Temporary. And that $27 is one single payment, no subscription. It also opens the chat with my AI twin: three messages a day, every day, all the way until the challenge starts on August 31. Ask it why you keep doing that one thing, and it answers with everything it already knows about you from your own reports. So tell me where you're at. Vote in the poll, it takes one tap. And if you're coming August 31, type a comment below and include the word: CHALLENGE and let us know how excited you are 🥳 With love, 💛 Jim

Setting a boundary and sticking to it
📅 Daily Check-in - August 13, 2026 💭 Reflection: "Yesterday was calmer than the previous two days. Actually it only remained like that until my eldest came home. He decided at the last minute that he wasn't going to football training and marked himself absent because it was an indoors session. Right after the coaches gave the teams heaps last week for doing this exact thing. He didn't provide a reason either. So he made sure he wasn't going by moving a crate behind the door so we couldn't open it. I had to go to football training anyway as I had to drop off some empty platters and a slow cooker for our quiz night fundraiser on Saturday night. While out, I was getting text messages from my eldest. His Dad had growled and believe me, he can be quite scary when he gets like that. So he's freaking out. Eventually, in the pouring rain, I managed to get home. Mended some bridges with him but I still stood my ground. On Friday, he has to apologise to both of his coaches and explain why he didn't want to leave the house (heavy rain and frightened he was going to be cut off with sudden flooding from the rest of us - we've been caught out twice before). He then must take the consequences dished out by the coaches. If it means no game on Sunday, then he has to accept it. So I've held my boundary with him - it was hard for me just as it was for him as he lives and breathes football. He can't go through life just changing his mind constantly even though it is part of his ADHD. In the meantime, he's become more weary of his Dad which is sad but I completely understand. Here's hoping today is a better day with getting the youngest off to school today." 📊 Wellbeing Scores: 😊 Happiness: 7/10 ⚡ Energy: 7/10 🎯 Focus: 7/10 😌 Calmness: 7/10 🌙 Sleep Quality: 6/10 🔥 Motivation: 7/10 ⭐ Average: 6.8/10 ✅ Activities from yesterday: 💧 Stayed Hydrated 🥗 Healthy Eating 🍺 No Alcohol ☕ No Late Caffeine 🥩 Hit Protein Goal 🥦 Ate Vegetables 🍳 Home Cooked Meal 👥 Quality Time 👂 Active Listening
Interruption and thoughts
For me, interruptions aren’t always annoying because they take thirty seconds. They’re annoying because I have no idea whether I’ll be able to reopen the mental door I finally managed to get through. Sometimes returning to the task costs far more energy than the interruption itself. I’d be interested to know whether others experience that “task re-entry” problem too and what helps. What’s worse, I myself am an interrupter. It’s one of the beautiful traits under ADHD, but again when I’m interrupted, let’s move on to the next subject. At 2:34am I’ll remember
