Hernia surgery
Hello! New to the group. Just had an inguinal hernia repaired at Shouldice March 14 and was released to fly back to the USA on March 17. I’m on day 26 today, and still doing the exercises and doing well I think. Tightness sometimes on and off, still quite a bit of numbness, and some quick “twinges” for the first time three or four times today. I’m a Spirit filled preacher, and was back in the pulpit 2 weeks and two days after surgery, but ended up in a little pain after preaching. Then a week later preached twice, and was ok, but a little swolen and sore that night and the next day - that was last Sunday. Preached again last night, which was Tuesday, two days later; and I was pretty well ok. Supposed to be flying out of state for a 4 day Revival this weekend and praying and believing that all will be well! I’ll add this also; in October on 2023 I was 240 pounds and today I’m 165 pounds - never been to the gym or took anything, just started eating clean and did body weight excises at home. Lost body fat and gained muscle. My abs were just starting to be really visible, and then I had the surgery. Looking forward to getting back to that routine, it’s called V-shred RI90 by Vince Saint, but it’s quite strenuous and I want to be wise - I’ll be glad to never hear the word surgery the rest of my days. 😆

Sleeping tips
Hello I wanted to post some tips that helped me sleep better in early recovery days and wanted to hear some coming from the community In my case (left inguinal laparoscopic) was very hard to sleep on side so I started to sleep on back position so here some recommendations - use a towel or a firm enough pillow in your lumbar zone to reduce back pain as a support - Use a pillow below your knees also helps for back posture and I heard for blood flow into your legs - Sleeping mask in my case help me a lot because my curtains aren’t blackout - Keep basic things closer but distractors, in this case keep my medication closer and some water help me to didn’t get out of bed and return to sleep easier Hope this helps some of you and wanted to hear yours also folks.

Fear is not my future
Hi everyone! My name is Gerard Gianfagna and I’m excited to join this community. I recently had laparoscopic bilateral inguinal hernia surgery with mesh and am on the path to recovery. I’m working with my trainer, Jayce Lee, to safely return to strength training while protecting my recovery. I’d love to see content around safe post-hernia recovery exercises, tips for managing setbacks, and real success stories. Looking forward to connecting and learning from all of you as we heal stronger together!

@Manny Le You are there right now. It’s all in your mind. Sure it’s hard. Anything worth something requires dedication commitment and all your heart. You got Jayce with you. I can tell you he is one great coach and person. He’s been there. Fear and doubt are liars. You can. You must.
Hi, everyone. I hope everyone during great
Sorry guys I couldn't upload my pictures but I'm new to the community. Couple of days ago I went to get a lump check and the doctor told me it was direct hernia and that I need surgery. 🤧 I had a panic attack just think about the surgery.

I’m sorry. Here’s how I defeated fear. This surgery will make me a better athlete. I will always focus on form over anything else.
Stretch Routine with a Hernia or After Surgery
Injuries can cause our bodies to tighten up and change the way we move, sit, stand, etc. It's important to keep and maintain a good range of motion. Try this routine to keep your body limber. *Note: be cautious with the stretches if your hernia causes you a lot of discomfort. If you just had hernia surgery, you should get a doctor's clearance before attempting this routine.
