May not be able to join since I'll be on-site! Question: Saw one of your older posts (unless I am dreaming or my memory is mistaken) about how you switched out pull-ups with heavy lat pulldowns and got them gains. Would like to ask if, since switching, you discovered your pull-ups have been hitting new PRs etc?
Finding Balance
Do you ever feel like you are juggling? Most of my life I tend to overdo everything. Always take on more, always add more. Always overextend. Work work work. Care for everyone in your life and put yourself on the back burner. Do you ever feel like the more you add to your plate, then something either falls off or breaks? I am admitting that I do. I am working on life balance because it is time to listen to my body and myself. I am trying to grow as a person and to find overall balance. I need to find balance between work, life, and all of my responsibilities. I also need to find balance while trying to take care of my health with nutrition, strength training, movement, sleep, recovery and rest. Just to name a few. Trying to handle this with grace. Trying to find peace, balance, reason, etc. I am taking inventory and deciding what will stay and what will go. I am posting this because I am probably not alone in this and it will make me accountable. I am ready to change more and will find a way. Peace and love. 💕🙏
Finding Balance

All my life, I watched my mother overextend herself, running after everyone and never taking time for herself until her late 40s (that was when I was around 18 - 21). From the perspective of a son, I watched her "show up" for me physically, but not mentally or emotionally. That hurt me a lot, and it ended up with the present complicated relationship I have with her, where I watch her trying to show up for my girls, yet I have to nurse my wounds myself. At the same time, it seems I "inherited" more from her that I'd like in the overextending department... I did the same thing myself, and watched my weight, cholesterol and LDL slowly climb throughout the years. I also realized my nervous system was in a perpetual state of fight or flight, anticipating that something is going to go wrong anytime, or things are always "too good to be true". I have no wish to be like my mother, and I don't want my girls looking at me like how I look at my mother. I started finding balance while prioritizing myself, exactly like what you described, in order to show up better in various aspects of my life. Thus, I'm glad to see you pausing, thinking, opening up and reprioritizing, and as the many replies here have shown, we all are going through different versions of this. Let's all continue becoming better versions of ourselves, so we can show up for those who matter, and we can pursue what really matters to us 💪
I was TESTED today 😶
Roller coaster of emotions. Lots of hitting. Lots of screaming. Lots of “Godddddd…” But… what a blessing. What a blessing to have the freedom to be with my daughter during these important stages of development. What a blessing to learn so much about myself through this parenting process. What a blessing to level up in maturity as an adult from the daily lessons she brings. What a blessing to be the one that shows her, through example, how to deal with hardship. I swear: having a child is the fast track to becoming a full adult 😌😌 What a day! Thanks for listening to me rant ✌️❤️

Perfect plate 'inversion'
The main CNY festivities (for Singapore at least) is over, with Day 1 & Day 2 just passed and working days resume for many corporates. Sharing some CNY struggles. Over here, we have our "perfect plate" of half plate veggies, a quarter lean protein, and a quarter carbs... And here we are at CNY, where there are 5 protein-based dishes, only 1 veggie dish, and 1 carb dish. Ohh, how easy it is to overeat the calories... (But then, the broccoli doesn't seem that popular, so I still filled up half my plate with the greens 😆) For the fellow chinese in this community... how did your CNY go?
