Respect for the Cold-Climate Crew
Woke up today with a newfound appreciation for those of you who live in cold climates. After three straight days of freezing temperatures here in Florida…and when I say freezing, I mean 25°F - 31F° (-3°C) I am officially humbled. We are not built for anything below 60 for extended periods of time. All of my plants look absolutely terrible. Some have literally turned black, which is kind of depressing to see. It makes you realize how much weather affects not just our routines, but our environment and mood too. I genuinely don’t know how you all do this for months at a time. I would want to stay indoors, under covers, and not move. So truly…kudos to everyone who wakes up in this kind of weather, gets dressed, goes to work, lives life, and somehow still makes it to the gym. That alone deserves an award. Respect. ā„ļøšŸ’Ŗ

Crazy win
Kinda crazy. So today I had a routine f/u with my oncologist. He came into the room in a hurried manner and in a little panic. He immediately stopped, looked at me and said "whew". I was scared for a minute. "I saw your recent health issue and your significant weight loss this past year and thought I was going to come in here and see a frail, weak, and quite sick person. You are not. You look amazing, healthy and strong. Wow." While these were not the comments and reaction I was expecting, it was such a complement. He also continued to tell me because I have been working so hard on my nutrition, strength, and health is why I have recovered so quickly and am doing as well as I am. Also congratulated me on 6 years cancer free! All of my recent scans are totally clean. SO excited. šŸŽ‰ Just had to share the crazy, but good news! Thanks everyone.

Add citrus if using. šŸ„— How I Serve It • As-is for a light, high-protein meal • Over cauliflower rice for volume • With a small scoop of jasmine rice on training days Have you tried Tinola before—or is this your first time? Drop a 🄣 if you’re adding this to your meal prep this week, and comment how you’d serve it! šŸ“Š Macros (Per Serving | ¼ Recipe) [estimate] • Calories: ~310 • Protein: ~34 g • Carbs: ~7 g • Fat: ~15 g • Fiber: ~2 g Chayote (also called sayote in Filipino cooking) is a mild, light-green squash that looks like a wrinkly pear. It’s super popular in Southeast Asian, Latin American, and Caribbean dishes—especially soups like tinola—because it soaks up flavor while staying crisp-tender.
