Greetings from East Africa
Greetings friends, am James Wanyira, a Regenerative Leadership Trainer / Purpose Alignment Coach & Learning Designer from Uganda (East Africa). Am super excited to be part of this community. The question i bring to this space is this, How does Inner work impact individual productivity of outer work on the job, within the context of an organization? Am curious as to how many people are interested in exploring this question together.

Great question @James Wanyira Inner work and outer productivity are, in my mind, are one single event. As the Buddhists say 'with our thoughts we shape the world'
IDGs & Measurement
Many work environments live by the mantra: "What gets measured, gets done." Does this mean that IDG adoption @work depends on our ability to measure it? If so, is it even possible to measure Inner Development? Or does it risk over-simplifying the vastness of our human Beingness?

How do we measure beauty or gratitude or connectedness or peace? Yet we all experience them and can feel how they go up and down. And many times they can be present and we don't experience then because our attention is somewhere else. The act of measurement helps us direct our attention. Years ago I was taught that there are two kinds of indicator - some indicators are dials i.e. precise like a thermometer and some indicators are 'tin openers'. Measuring compassion requires a 'tin opener'. There is no dial for the IDGs.
HOW I CAN CONTRIBUTE
Dear community, in the first place apologizes for not giving any sign of live until now. I have gone through a difficult personal period and to be honest life doesnΒ΄t leave me so much time to dedicate in front of the screen. So in the first place I want to be transparent about this. In the second place it is also truth that I have a deep and sincere longing for building community around IDGs to build a better world. So I can tell you how I can contribute: I teach teams management and leadership at Zaragoza University, I teach conscious Leadership, Theory U and therefore Mindfulness together with an ethics for the common good. Every year after finishing the academic course, I offer my students to go on practicing Theory U and developing conscious leadership competences outside the official program, we do it within the in the facilities of the neighborhood association of my neighborhood, since the social field at the Economics Faculty where I work was not ready at all for it. I have been doing it since 2020. This year for the very first time, a team of 6 students from these last 5 years, has wanted to give back to the system for free what they received for free. We will be offering every two weeks, at the Economics Faculty of Zaragoza University, a space for deep listening as a base for conscious leadership competences. I will be holding the space, but the ex students will be the real protagonists giving the deep listening and helping students of the Economics Faculty that want to participate, to develop their competences to lead from the emerging future. It is a fantastic lab to see how the alumni use what they have learned with me in the past years, and how the current students receive from young people just a bit older than they are. I suspect that they will be receiving it much better from their peers. So I can contribute from time to time reporting on the development of the initiative. I hope this can add value to the community. For me just the fact of taking part of this community is highly valuable; just knowing that you are there ; that I am not alone is highly valuable

Please do share your updates Estrella, that is so inspiring. I lived in Teruel 40 years ago and I still feel a strong connection to Aragon. Are there any ways we might contribute?
Is the focus on relating skills underexplored in many organizations?
While companies tend to emphasize collaboration – working together effectively towards shared goals – do you think there is enough attention given to relating in a deeper sense? By this, I mean not only relating to others but also to oneself and to nature. In your experience, do companies and leadership programs put enough emphasis on helping people connect on these levels? Or could we say there is a bit of a β€œrelating gap” in today’s workplaces? Curious to know if you feel this is an area that needs more focus, and if so, how we might bring it into greater awareness in our organizations. Looking forward to hearing your perspectives! Please comment!!!

Often when organisations are under stress there is a tendency for people to treat each other 'instrumentally' - i.e. 'just do your job, so I can do mine'. No-one likes being treated instrumentally, so it is an ineffective way of working and also very bad for organisational morale. A question that might be useful to ask in organisations is 'what kind of relationships do you need for the organisation to flourish and for everyone to thrive?' Let the group decide what they need. I work with not for profits, so may be this suggestion is impractical for the private sector

I'm curious about how the IDGS enable me to relax and enjoy life and how I bring that into my work with organisations around leadership and change.
