3 upcoming ID@Work events (including a trip to Portugal!) 🌿
@Nadene Canning and I just wrapped up a wonderful summer hangout with community members, and it felt like the perfect moment to turn on the camera and record a quick update for you. In true ID@Work style — completely unpolished, one-take, no-jacket-required (it’s hot!) — we sat down to talk through three upcoming events we are so excited about. What makes these extra special is that all three grew organically out of collaborations with members right here in our community. Here is what’s coming up: 1. 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐮𝐩: 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 🌿 - Date & Time: Thursday, August 6th at 6:00 PM CEST - Guest: Nadine McCormick (World Business Council for Sustainable Development) - The Story: During London Climate Action Week, community member @Denise Pang invited ID@Work to collaborate. This follow-up session is an informal, deep-dive discussion with Nadine about how she integrates Inner Development Goals into her day-to-day sustainability work — what’s been easy, what’s been hard, and what she's learning along the way. - Access: Please register here (We’ll also record this session for anyone who can’t make it live). 2. 𝐀𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 "𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭" 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 🌺 - Date & Time: Thursday, August 13th at 9:00 AM CEST - Guests: Community member @Wendy Harper & her team (Adelaide, Australia) - The Story: Wendy and her team successfully integrated the IDG framework across the entire 7-day program for Adelaide Climate Action Week. In this session, they'll share their "Root to Fruit" strategy — how it came about, why they did it, and how inner development can anchor large-scale climate initiatives. - Access: Please register here. (This session will also be recorded). 3. 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: "𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬" & 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫

Dependig on the projects you are involved in and the hemisphere, we are aware that "Summer pace" may not resonate. That's great! Feel free to shake our tree with your energy 🌴

The Seeds We Sow
How can inner development become a catalyst for societal transformation? This new peer-reviewed paper by Professor Christine Wamsler and colleagues offers compelling evidence that spiritual and awareness-based practices can strengthen resilience, agency, hope, and engagement in the face of today's polycrisis. It's encouraging to see rigorous research exploring how inner transformation and systemic change can reinforce one another. A valuable contribution for anyone working in regenerative leadership, systems change, climate action, or the Inner Development Goals. 🌿 Paper

The Sustainability Mindset Gap
Most organizations say sustainability matters. But not all organizations think about sustainability in the same way. In reality, there are four very different sustainability mindsets — and where a company sits often determines whether it survives disruption or leads transformation. 🔹 Compliance Mindset "What do regulations require us to do?" Sustainability is treated as a legal obligation and a risk to be managed. The goal is compliance, reporting, and avoiding penalties. 🔹 Traditional Value Mindset "How can sustainability improve efficiency?" The focus shifts to reducing costs, improving productivity, and increasing margins through eco-efficiency and operational improvements. 🔹 Risk Mindset "What future threats could impact our business?" Climate risks, supply chain disruptions, water scarcity, and changing regulations become strategic business concerns rather than environmental issues. 🔹 Growth Mindset "How can sustainability create new value?" This is where sustainability becomes a driver of innovation, new products, new markets, and competitive advantage. The most successful companies are no longer asking: "How much will sustainability cost us?" They are asking: "What opportunities will we miss if we ignore it?" The transition from compliance to growth is more than a sustainability journey. It is a business transformation journey. The organizations that view sustainability purely as a reporting exercise may protect yesterday's business. The organizations that view it as an innovation engine are building tomorrow's. The question for every leader, board member, and executive team is simple: Which mindset best describes your organization today — which mindset will define its future? This is where inner development makes ALL the difference. Source Sustainability Circle
