Is it just me ?
Do you ever find yourself thinking you could go for a large bowl of your favourite chips ? Lately I’ve found myself thinking that more often. I never actually do it but I will have 1 or 2 chips sometime. I was being good and not buying any chips for a whole 2 weeks but last weekend I ended up buying 3 large bag from Costco. My son grabs large bowls of them and goes through a bag in a couple of days. Seeing him enjoy it makes me want some even more. What do you do when you can’t stop thinking about a food?

@Valerie Frey It’s normal to have cravings, even I have cravings sometimes too, but I’m very selective when comes to chips. I do have some favourites to go to chips like corn chips, nacho chips, and tempeh chips. I indulge occasionally and include them in my calorie budget. I’ve learned that the more you deprive yourself, the stronger your cravings become. So, I set out to find other alternatives with high protein and low calories, offering generous portion sizes. This works well for me because I eat a lot, even though my daily calorie intake is only 1,400 kcal. The large portion sizes and low calories help me feel fuller and reduce snacking cravings.
Back to it!
Ok team, I begin the last 4 weeks of work induced sleep deficit tomorrow. I am rested and ready to go! I am going to start the 8 weeks of the Strength Blueprint tomorrow as well! This means less cardio for me, which makes me nervous, as that means less calories for me to eat. And if I am going to be completely honest, I have relied on cardio to supply me with happy serotonin. I have no idea if relying on weight training will also supply me happy serotonin, as I’ve never done that before. But, I am going to whole heartedly try it out to see if I can do it. There’s no time like the present!! Let’s goo!!

Skipping
A shout out to @Cristyne Hung Today I did it!! 😎😃💪 I did 50 jumps. It took me two weeks to get over the pain in my left shoulder and be able to swing the rope around. I started out with slowly walking over the rope, back and forth. Then small jumps.. Did mobility for my shoulders. Noticed the diference and today I actually jumped, 50 TIMES!! So fun and also another reminder of that consistency, stubborness and a small amount of crazyness helps. 🤪 😂😂😂

Fun fact Friday!
A little fun fact about me, I am slightly allergic to the sun. So too much time in the sun, even fully covered up makes me a little sick. I get a fever and other annoying health issues that keep me home for a day or two. So the 4 hours of kayaking in the sun on Wednesday was enough to keep me in bed with sun sickness yesterday. Totally worth it though, I had so much fun!! Wednesday I was kayaking in the heat and sun and today I am home and it’s snowing! Crazy! Okay, your turn… a fun fact about you!

@Jaime Stewart I hope you’re fully recovered. I’m glad you had fun. I completely understand your situation; I don’t get sun sickness, but for me, it’s heat rash. I developed it after spending too much time in the sun. The itch was so bad and unbearable at night. My dermatologist advised me to only expose myself to the morning sun because the UV rays are less intense compared to the afternoon sun.

@Jaime Stewart Yes, it’s not fun at all. Usually, I end up having sleepless nights because of the terrible itch. It’s a total nightmare! I avoid the afternoon sun for too long. Instead, gradually introduce my skin to the morning sun by spending an hour outdoors and slowly increasing my exposure. I will put on plenty of sunscreen, starting with a high SPF and gradually reducing to a lower one.
When a cold meets camping weather 🤧🌬️ Recovery mode ON 💪
Happy Monday everyone! I’ve been battling a bad cold and cough since the end of last week, and it was at its peak yesterday. My husband suggested a week-long camping trip to Portugal, but the weather yesterday was terrible – crazy wind gusts and chilly. That pushed me over the edge, but I’m feeling slightly better today and hope tomorrow will be better. Thankfully, the weather forecast predicts sunny weather for the next few days! To be honest, I haven’t been hitting my protein target, but I’ve managed to meet the minimum. When I’m sick, I feel constantly hungry instead of losing my appetite. I need to fuel myself up with carbs to feel fuller. I can’t wait to go back to my normal routine. I will start my strength course once I’m fully recovered. Wait for me!

@Lena Nguyen Thank you so much foodie sissy! I’m feeling much better now. I’ve been eating some kimchi noodles and curry noodles, and soaking up plenty of sunshine. My inner ‘solar panel’ in me is fully charged! 😁 I will share some pics.
