Heirlooms bring back memories
Christmas is just 2 days away and I woke up "feeling" my father in law. He was truly a best friend in all of the right ways (some not so right š¤£). We were 2 peas in a pod! We had a lot of fun together and into plenty of "Trouble" together too.š. Always had a lot of laughs! This close to Christmas was always a mad dash for last minute shopping. We would always finally decide what we wanted to get our wives at the last minute and it was always hard to get as we are always late. We would leave work fight the traffic and sometimes drive hours to find the only store that had 1 left of the item we needed. We'd be complaining the whole time "Why do they only ever have 1 left"š¤£. Like it wasn't our fault for waiting till the last minute. and we'd just laugh on the way there and back. He's been gone 23 yrs and I still think of him daily and laugh! As you all know I am a Nostalgic guy especially when it comes to watches and their stories. I am sharing this one with you all as I have always felt it brings him and his spirit back to life when I wear a watch of his. This to me is the epitome of "heirloom". I am just the custodian for the next generation. 1 day one of my sons will have this watch and they will tell stories about me that they experienced 1st hand. Hopefully they will also tell stories of me and their grandfather (2nd hand) as they were too young when he passed.š¢ Either way I want them to smile fondly every time they wear an heirloom. The holidays are about giving! and today I am giving myself the joy of remembering my Best Friend and sharing some of his greatness with you all. Merry Christmas Everyone!!
