Blurbity blurb?
I'm thinking my tagline and blurb need a facelift. How does this sound to everyone? Genre: cozy fantasy. There's a cat on the cover, so I'm debating if I should mention the cat much earlier? In the tagline? Kitty is important to the plot, so.... 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗞𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰... 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. He might be a genie, but he longs to help people grow in ways magic never has. According to legend, a truly content person could release him from magical servitude forever. So Kamod packs up his caravan and sets off across the rustic countryside of the Blisswile Isles in search of someone genuinely happy. Unfortunately, there's a catch, and before long, he finds himself tangled in one quirky situation after another alongside a growing circle of friends: a stray orange cat determined to adopt him, a wise goblin monk, a mischievous imp, and a dwarf devoted to rescuing dragons. Yet the longer Kamod searches for his own happiness, the more hopeless the journey begins to feel. How can he ever be freed when every wish, even a selfless one, begins with the belief that something is needed, broken, or not enough? Although, when we feel most powerless, sometimes wishes come true in unexpected ways. finding the break
I have an ad I set up about a month ago (paused it for a few weeks during a free-promo, that's another problem-issue I'm having-- for another post), after this one) my CTR is decent at 6.2 (7ish for all). CPC popped up from 16 to .26 (not sure why since nothing else changed when I turned the ad back on. my ad spend is low still. 5.00/day. But- I think I -- should- be seeing one sale/day (roughly?). although the book/series is wide.. so not in KU. (epic fantasy, no spice, FMCs) I think the amazon page is solid.. but somewhere there is a disconnect between the ad (ad creative?) and the amazon page so that even though it's getting clicks- those clicks aren't converting. how do I determine where the breakdown is..
ad-creative feedback?
SSC question- will there be a place where we can post our ads/creative etc to get feedback from Mal and/or the community? this may be a stupid question, but I didn't see any information about that anywhere:)
Cover for Conspiracy novel still not resonating with audience
Hey one and all. I recently launched my new book "Conspiracy". A picaresque, historical thriller set in Paris/Geneva 1791. Whilst I really like the cover I had gone with, I am finding it's not quite resonating with my audience. There seems to be miss-match. I think the Jason Bourne (18thC style) is leaning still to much towards a modern day thriller. Nothing ventured, nothing gained - as they say. So, I really could do with some external opinions here as I am playing with some new ideas. They are mixed. But to give you the tone of the book, here is the blurb: To cheat poverty, he joined a conspiracy. To survive it, well… Paris, 1791. The Revolution is in full swing, and powdered wigs shall roll as easily as dice. Enter Jonas: a Swiss peasant with empty pockets and a burning ambition to improve his lot in life. He’s just triumphed at the gaming table and clutches half an invitation into a powerful cabal of kingmakers who promise a new world order where merit trumps birthright. Alas, there is a catch: a slow-acting poison ensures loyalty, and only his masters hold the cure. Now the syndicate’s favoured courier, Jonas plunges into the smoky, blood-soaked corners of a city upended, where he soon discovers the society’s aim is not noble liberation after all — ‘tis a plot to overthrow his homeland, and he is the pawn delivering the weapons! And so, with venom coursing through his veins, he recruits a ragtag crew of outcasts: a crime lord, a clockmaker, a pickpocket, and sundry other mischief-makers. Together, they must pull off an impossible heist, save the captives, secure the antidotes, and burn the conspiracy to the ground — or be consumed by it. ‘Tis picaresque. ‘Tis poisoned. ‘Tis Conspiracy. Which, from the new ideas would you say best fits the blurb. I appreciate this may not be your genre, but any opinions will be helpful. Current cover is attached (slanted Ipad).
