Setting Goals
Andrew and I had a great discussion last week about setting goals. How often are we setting goals, big or small and stopping to admire the results when the work is done? Are you telling yourself “if I could just accomplish this, or get to this point I would be satisfied with my work”? Or do you miss that moment and move your “goal posts” again?Chasing something and not taking the time you earned and deserve to admire your hard work. This is different than settling for things in life. Having goals is wonderful, career wise or personal life goals are wonderful, but are you stopping and giving yourself the credit you deserve?

Weekly Integration Call
Thanks to Nick and Sam for coming to the call yesterday, there is loads of value there for people going through the process. We talk about how to process anger and how our unconscious stories around different emotions effect our ability to release them. We also talk a bit about parenting and how reduce the daily battle with your children. The recording is available in the FAQ section of the classroom.

How long does your integration take?
I’ve noticed over the course of this work that when I recognize a trigger, do breathwork to release the emotion (which I typically do at night before sleep), that I still get triggered by the same event for at least the following 24 hrs. Day 2 is less, and by mid day 3, the trigger is largely gone and my adult self is present in the event. My latest experience was this past Sunday to Wednesday. What timing have others experienced (if you have)? I ask for the community as I recall thinking ‘well shit that session didn’t work’… then realizing later I’m the week that it did. Hoping this gives some hope to anyone feeling not changed immediately after a session.
Work Request
So at my work we have routine meetings and we discuss issues within our work territory, upcoming training, union business and a safety message. The safety message is very cookie-cutter stay hydrated, safe driving tools/tips, etc. My job is a highly stressful, quick pace, emergency status position and I’ve been tasked with coming up with a message for my work group. Since I talk about The Lighthouse Project very openly at work my boss asked if I could write up a short message for the guys. I haven’t even sat down to begin writing a message yet, but I’m looking to see if there are some major bullet points I should touch on. I’d like to use this message to show these guys what we already know. That they’re not alone, this work IS stressful. These men and women that do this work are tough skinned, a lot of them joke about how much they drink too. Thanks for any and all help.
Meds, Journaling and What Not to do.
Another great call in the Q&A this week discussing Medication and our relationship with a diagnosis or label. How to use journaling to support your practice and we discussed the most important thing NOT to do when you are doing this work. All Q&A calls can be found in the FAQ section of the classroom. https://www.skool.com/the-lighthouse-project/classroom/852281d5?md=5c7720a13e654537b941c977bb37e43a Once again, I want to reiterate that the destination of presence, peace and authenticity is available to everyone. All you have to do is keep logging in, turn up for yourself and reach out for support when you need it and you WILL get there. I have spoken to some that have given up already, never reaching out or turning up. Don't be that guy, you deserve better.
