Many connect over their stressors or traumas, discussing the latest distressing news as a way to bond. But this is co-dysregulation. As a practitioner of this work, co-regulation is foundational and is one of the most crucial topics and skill sets for humans to learn is co-regulation. Co-regulation is all about how your electrical bubble, your nervous system, interacts with another's nervous system. When we spend time with someone with a regulated nervous system, we start to co-regulate with them, finding balance without saying a word. Conversely, if someone's dysregulated and we spend time with them, we might start to feel dysregulated ourselves. We discuss this in this video.
