OOTD - Wednesday 10 June
Today I took my youngest to school early so we could get our Coffee’s (one is a hot chocolate), grabbed a quick photo with the Cafe owner and head baristas and then back home to work on Schedules and spreadsheets. I tried to build this outfit with a blue base, navy to true blue to steel blue, and then finished with brown accents to add depth and lift without breaking the flow. OOTD-CW - 9 June 2026
We have begun a research study to look at how my niche industry see the use AI in our work: now and in the future. We have some major key opinion leaders lined up to give fantastic insights. We are striving to present the findings in November at a conference in Austria. Mostly internal meetings today, though also meeting with our financial advisor as we are nearly ready to meet with investors. Today's outfit is a bit more casual: • Blazer — DOJ-005 (Ralph Lauren): A classic Ralph Lauren tweed blazer in brown with light tan suede elbow patches, crafted from a cashmere and wool blend sourced from Canada. The rope-and-padded shoulders with full acetate lining deliver medium warmth and a traditional British sporting aesthetic. Notched lapels and dark brown buttons with tan flares complete the heritage look—ideal for a video conference day blending business casual sophistication with approachable warmth. • Shirt — DS-039 (Brisk): A blue and white striped dress shirt with a contrasting solid white collar featuring a large pinhole collar design. Cotton-elastane blend provides all-day comfort and stretch, while the long point collar with 2.125" spread accommodates the collar pin beautifully. The barrel cuffs with vertical two-button configuration keep the look clean and professional. • Undershirt — US-004 (Pro Club): A heavyweight black cotton Pro Club crew neck undershirt, providing solid coverage and zero show-through under the striped dress shirt. The dark color creates a clean foundation that won't distract on video calls. • Slacks — SL-009 (Santorelli): Tan Santorelli slacks in wool and elastane with a faint check pattern and subtle medium brown undertones. Low rise with outward-facing pleats and good drape, these sit perfectly with the earthy brown tones of the tweed jacket. The half-break length maintains a modern silhouette on camera. • Tie — NT-052 (Brooks Brothers): A Brooks Brothers silk necktie featuring geometric patterns in red, tan, sage green, and navy. The 3-fold construction with matte finish and 3.5" width creates visual interest without overwhelming the striped shirt. Light body and easy dimple potential make this a refined business casual statement piece—my first BB tie in the collection.

Color Combination and Seasonal Fabrics
This outfit is an excellent example of how thoughtful color coordination and seasonal fabrics can elevate business-casual dressing, especially in the South Texas heat. The deep navy Hart Schaffner Marx sport coat provides a strong, professional foundation, while the olive-green linen shirt introduces an earthy sophistication that feels relaxed yet intentional. The warm brown trousers create a natural bridge between the jacket and shirt, producing a palette that is rich, masculine, and understated without relying on high-contrast combinations. From a fabric standpoint, the ensemble is particularly well-suited for SATX weather. The breathable linen shirt allows airflow and comfort during warm afternoons, while the softly constructed jacket offers the polish of tailoring without the burden of excessive structure or heavy lining. Together, they achieve that elusive balance between looking sharp and staying comfortable when temperatures climb into the 90s. The footwear deserves special mention. The brown suede shoes introduce texture and visual depth while maintaining a relaxed elegance that complements the linen and soft tailoring. Suede often excels in business-casual settings because it communicates refinement without the formality of highly polished calfskin. The Invicta Reserve watch adds a touch of personality and presence. Its substantial design and warm metallic tones echo the earth-toned palette of the outfit, proving that accessories can make a statement while still supporting the overall look. What makes this combination particularly successful is that nothing appears forced. The navy, olive, and brown color story feels organic and timeless, while the mix of linen, soft tailoring, suede, and textured fabrics creates visual interest without becoming busy. For a business-casual day in San Antonio, where comfort is every bit as important as appearance, this outfit strikes the mark beautifully—professional enough for the office, relaxed enough for an outdoor lunch meeting, and stylish enough to transition seamlessly into an evening on the patio.
