OOTD Tie Tuesday Edition
Sometimes an outfit just builds itself. I scored this light weight sport coat over the weekend at Jos A Bank. The shirt, tie, trousers and shoes practically jumped out of the closet at it. The textures really elevate it too- linen blend, suede, wool blend, and crisp cotton. I feel like a million bucks. Shirt: Charles Tyrwhitt French cuff non iron Trousers Jos A Bank traveler Tie & Pocket square - The Tie Bar Belt- Anson Navy buffalo vegetable tanned Shoes AE Navy suede brouge derby Watch- Bulova Super Seville

Last minute work errands before I fly out this afternoon I threw on a Royal bkue MTM blazer with an orange pocket square. This will be replaced by my quilted Barbour jacket and a wool flat cap soon. But not just yet with the 100 degree in the shade heat🥵. For the trip I have a 35 plus year old Harold’s chambray shirt that I flipped the frayed collar to milk a few more years out of, a nearly 30 year old orange wool tartan tie I picked up in Verona Italy, 501 button front shrink to fit black Levi’s, a brand new pair of Solomon ankle high boots, my Borealis dive watch -and Darn tough socks. My wife and I spent a year living out of a suit case 33 years ago in Europe and Central America so I am in the single carry on bag league. We will see how it goes. Tomorrow Scotland

Our Own William Wehrs returns to The Gentleman's Forum tomorrow 08/12/2026. The smartest wardrobe move is not buying more clothes - it's building a style that changes how you carry yourself. William Wehrs returns to share how he went from wearing all black in college to becoming the kind of man who can travel for weeks with just two suits, a sports coat, and eight different outfits. What starts as a conversation about menswear quickly becomes a deeper look at confidence, discipline, and identity. William breaks down how shows like Mad Men and The Night Manager, affordable finds like a $90 suit, and style education from places like Real Men Real Style and Gentleman’s Gazette reshaped the way he presents himself. Anthony Bunton pushes the conversation further, showing how dressing with intention is really about mindset, maturity, and the signal you send to the world. You'll discover: - Why looking sharp has less to do with price and more to do with intention - How to build a flexible travel wardrobe without packing a closet - Why repeating suits is not the issue if you rotate shirts, ties, pocket squares, and details - How wearing formal clothing regularly can make confidence feel natural - Why style can be a powerful tool for teachers, young men, and anyone trying to define who they are The conversation then shifts into something even more meaningful: how learning never stops. William shares how his summer travel included a Chicago History Museum workshop on using Library of Congress documents, visits to museums and historic sites, and time spent thinking about how to turn history into an active experience for students. As a teacher preparing to take on AP European History, he explains why he wants students to interrogate material instead of memorizing it, and why history should be something you live with, not just study for a test. Anthony and William also explore the importance of family history, historical memory, and the lessons hidden in places like cemeteries and memorials. From Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass to Vietnam veterans and the cultural stories behind a simple grave marker, this episode makes the case that understanding the past shapes how we live now. Perfect for men interested in style, fathers and mentors, teachers, history lovers, and anyone who wants to raise thoughtful young people. If you care about looking better, thinking deeper, and becoming more intentional in how you live, this conversation belongs in your queue.
