Protect your name
Good morning gentlemen, As you are all aware I spoke about de digitizing my life. Part of this was getting back to writing and in doing so I realized that my cursive writing skills had dropped dramatically. I could not make decent cursive letters to save my life. Now for some of you younger gentlemen I know some schools quit teaching cursive writing and you do not understand this aspect. But growing up, the most important aspect of writing cursive was to be able to sign your name to documents. Why is that important? Because your signature has a unique style of your handwriting, this could protect people from forging your name on documents. Now days I know that many signatures are done digital on pads where you use your finger or a stylist to sign. I usually see people just scribble our make an “X” where the signature goes. Gentlemen, I want to caution you, just scrubbing on a document or on a pad for a signature can get you in serious trouble when someone forges your identity and signs your name to documents and uses the same “X” line. That you normally use. This has been happening lately and company’s are now pushing to hold a persons accountable saying that you signed these things. And because you do not a a proper signature, you have no way of proving that you did not sign these things documents. Yes you can go to court and fight it but, I can tell you the price you will pay for an attorney to fight it will cost you a fortune. I have a friend who someone stole his identity, went to a car dealership and signed for a new car. He had to fight this and one of the biggest things, was that he never really signed his name just scribble and the person that did this basically did the same thing. So he had to fight to prove that he did not sign for this car. I myself had an issue once that someone said that I signed for a package that I did not receive but the one thing that they could not deny was that it was not my signature. When that saw my signature and the person use signed for it, it was clear that I did not sign for that package and they could not deny it and they had to send me another one.
