You might think that you cannot make a difference
Good morning gentlemen, Many of us through our lives have felt that we are not important, or that what we do matters. The fact is that you do matter and everything you do is important. We all play a part in this world that we live in and each and everyone has a purpose. There is no one that is insignificant in this world. You might not have the job that you wanted or on the path that you dreamed that you would be on in life, but that does not mean that you are not important or that what you do is not important. You are here, you are where you are, and you are who are for a reason. Please remember gentlemen, that just as you are important everyone you meet, everyone you have dealings with are just as important as you are. Why does this matter? Because you impact others in the way you talk, the way you dress, the way you carry yourself. You never know that that one person who looks up to you, or that one person that is having a bad day and is contemplating ending their life and you speak to them and give them hope. Or that one person that is struggling and just needs someone to notice them or give them a smile. What you do can impact a person life, don’t sell yourself short. You are important and because you are important you can make a difference in someone’s life. The mere fact that you are reading this, is because you were meant to read this and understand who you are. My grandfather used to call this “ A Divine Appointment “. I encourage you to read this true story below of a man who went unnoticed in his eyes but what he did changed the course of millions of people. The most significant hero that you never heard of. There was a man his name was Mordecai Ham. He was not a famous guy, he was an American tent revival preacher in the late 1800s early 1900s. In 1934 he was preaching a tent revival in Charlotte North Carolina. Two fourteen year old boys saw the tent, heard the commotion of people. They heard this bold love of the father preaching, they just happen to be walking by and they were like “huh that’s interesting.” But as they walked up to see, there are no seats available. As they walked away an usher who name no one knows to this day. This usher ran after the two 14 year old boys. He grabbed one of the boys and said “ we can find two seats for you boys together. And he walked them back asked a couple people to scoot over and he found those two 14 year old boys seats. That day they ended up giving their lives to Christ and consecrating themselves to the purpose of God in their generation. One of those boys was a man we now know as Billy Graham. Billy Graham ended up preaching the Gospel to more than anyone else has ever preached in the history of the world. Tens of millions of people were called up to the kingdom under the preaching of Billy Graham. The other boy name was Grady Wilson, and he was the man that ended up helping Billy Graham organize all his evangelistic crusades. He changed the world. Not Billy Graham, not Grady Wilson, not Mordecai Ham. But the usher! That one man that saw two 14 year old boys walking from the faith and said “not on my watch, you get back here boys.” The job of the usher is not to change the world, your job is to change somebody’s world.
