Greeting at church this am
Unfortunately we’ve had 2 great men of God pass away. The First Gentleman they buried on Friday while I was at work, 2nd gents will be this Saturday and we were closer to him, his o older son is in my men’s bible study. Also this Gentleman greeted people and was “Always in a suit” he set the bar high!! So we are planning on going to his funeral to show our respects Next Sunday I will be cooking breakfast with our men’s ministry for the entire church for Easter Weekend after that is the pancake breakfast for our trac camp to raise money to cover our spiritual nieces and nephews to come to camp

Confidence & Relationships
I’ve read some comments in this group and some men are wondering, what’s the end goal with putting all this time and energy into your look It’s a lot deeper than what you have on, a lot of times it’s your connection into a door. I belive as men we should strive to have as many genuine connections as we can, life is up and down If you have people you can lean on, the easier life becomes, we all know it can get messy at times. So learning and understanding first your environment Are you going to workout, on a date, or a country club ? Wear things that enhance you but also wear things that compliments that environment Ex: 1. if you’re going on a date you might put on cologne that women tend to like, 2. Country club you might wear a watch that’s accepted or a conversation started 3. Gym you might have a nice gym bag For the most part you should like what you wear but there may be instances where the environment and your intention is more important than how much you like your outfit Hope this helps someone
From an unwell American who has received a blow to the head
I am a big Chaps Guide fan. This video he did from 11 months ago does a great job of explaining the difference of sensibilities between the US and the UK in regards to style. Naturally as an American who embraces, as well as prefers our Classic Timeless Menswear traditions especially those which I used to sell (a more Ivy League leaning), I have to disagree with him. Yet I am totally aware and respect his cultural perspective for appropriate wear in the UK. Here, while oxford shoes and tailored trousers will always have an upgraded formality- it is perfectly appropriate to wear dress tassels and brogues with tailored wear including a suit. It also fine to wear jeans with a tailored coat to many functions. Basically, here-jeans are one step below chinos. Occasionally I will hear some US folks in the RMRS community get confused about these issues. With the death of an abundance of quality mens’s stores, we are left with the noise of the internet. I would recommend to my US brothers to be aware of the writings of G. Bruce Boyers, Allan Flusser, and to look at Ralph Lauren interviews to understand the US version of CTM. There are also some quintessential men-stores that one can peruse online such as J Press and Ben Silver that will help a guy in the US who seeks direction to get started. Outside the US this varies greatly and I would love to hear from our international brother’s perspective. There are many national cultural norms that simply don’t fly in other regions of the world. It’s fun to learn about these. Now it’s time for me to see a Dr. about that blow to the head Ash🤣 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WG73wyOGPX0&pp=ugUEEgJlbg%3D%3D
Dark / Light
On this Palm Sunday my outfit portrays the week called Holy Week. Irrespective of one’s personal beliefs this week was significant enough to define events that has lead to the way all humans count time itself in years. This week begins with a bright celebration followed by poignant moments and the darkest of moments followed by an exceedingly bright moment. Not to be too heady but my OOTD is a series of contrasts as well. Dark brushed cotton burgundy blazer Light blue CT linen/ cotton shirt Wool challis green with red paisley tie Two Pocket squares green and burgundy Steel blue trousers (man made materials) Cashmere socks Alden shell cordovan loafers Caravelle Bulova watch •Dark / Light : burgundy jacket with light blue shirt { very dark and very light events this week} • Spring / Fall: wool tie with linen shirt { a new covenant following a previous one } • Expensive/ Not expensive: $60 jacket find and cheap trousers with cashmere socks and shell cordovan shoes {a very costly sacrifice in exchange for some thing that is free} What ever your belief system is brothers, I hope your week is blessed.
