How To Easily - And Correctly - Find The Right Colors For Your Skin Tones...
First, the answer isn't AI. Let's get that out of way immediately. There are a plethora of reasons for this but we'll simply start and stop with the fact that no current technology is adequate at translating or understanding what the human eye actually sees. Add to this the fact that different light sources affect the look of both your skin tones and the colors of clothing and the disadvantage of using a still image begins to come clear, as well. It is still possible to get good recommendations from still images but the best, most accurate results require several things: - Different light sources - Different times of day - Different times of the year You may notice that I keep saying "skin tones" instead of the singular, tone. The reason is because we all have varying skin tones; we are neither uniform nor static. Almost all humans have both warm and cool undertones; it is the strength and intensity that matters most - along with how they vary throughout the day and year. Yes - your primary undertone can shift throughout the year. Most people trend warmer in summer and cooler in winter - it's just a question of degree. So, what method do I recommend for easily and correctly identifying your skin tones? A clinical diagnosis... Step 1: Start a Sartorial Journal Seriously, a dedicated notebook to sartorial pursuits is a must-have for anyone looking to elevate their style. I've gone over some uses of this in my guide on elevating your wardrobe. Here, though, we're focusing on its use simply for recording others' opinions... Step 2: Find a Focus Group If you want the best answers to complicated questions, you should get answers from multiple people. Friends are best, spouses/partners are usually good, strangers are okay to good (luck of the draw). I recommend having mostly female eyes in your focus group - they just tend to be better at this, definitely more instinctive about it, than most males. They key is finding multiple sets of eyes that you trust to be honest with you.
Question
Good morning everyone. I wanted to ask this and if it’s repeating something that’s already posted I apologize. Have any of you ever like looked into what colors seem to naturally work best for you or do you pretty much just go with what attracts you when you’re picking out styles, fabrics and colors? Obviously there’s an economic. Obviously there’s a economic approach to it and when you’re doing most of your shopping at Goodwill, you certainly have to take what you can but I am just curious as to how many of you approach purchasing Clothing from a color or shade aspect. Thank you in advance for all your help.
