On the 7th day of Christmas embracing the passing of time🎵
As my hair thins and my beard has moved to the salt from the pepper side I find my self wearing hats more and more. One of the things I love about Classic Timeless Menswear is the ability to embrace old timeless items in a new way. The Pendleton stalker hat worn today I have had for at least 35 years. I rarely wore this classic in my late 20’s and early 30’s, but I’ve noticed that the beard itself and the reality that the beard isn’t the only part of me that is well seasoned makes the hat more- let’s just say suited. Today I am taking my family and my deceased best buddy’s son and his new bride (for their belated honeymoon) to a resort over the weekend. Consequently on this travel day I am wearing my Filson Field jacket, a Barbour flannel, black Levi 501 button fronts and my Salomon black trek runners. Just hope I don’t fall in the water with the 7 swans a swimming.

Mostly another “get stuff done” day. Productive, though my wonderful tailor missed being there at two different agreed upon times. That said, he did adjust a pair of pants in less than a day so I have something for NYE. Today’s Outfit Shirt: David Donahue French-cuff white dress shirt with twill pattern Slacks: Tan wool Santorelli slacks Vest: Charles Tyrwhitt sharkskin blue vest Tie: Harris Tweed tie with a multicolored pencil check pattern on a brown background - beast of a tie at 62” and in thick tweed! Belt: Nordstrom dark brown belt with silver buckle Shoes: Stacy Adams navy cap-toe Oxfords Socks: Il Regalo OTC cotton dress socks in brown and blue stripes. Pretty disillusioned with this brand. Will make a post later. Cufflinks: Brown and tan pattern on silver cufflinks from Trafalgar Watch: Disney wedding watch (you get one when you have your wedding at Disneyland (probably any Disney park). I wanted something in metal today.

Final outfit of the year and I wanted to go out with the crazy Oxfords. Moreover, they matched the tie my boys selected for me this year. It's a Silvio Fiorella, who I believe makes the most beautiful ties in the world (artistically). I'm not a fan or actual real-life items being drawn onto ties, so I asked my wife how attached they were to this particular tie. The response was "VERY". They took several days to come to agreement on it, so it is absolutely staying in my tie collection for good. Now it's a reason to bring out the crazy Oxfords! I hope everyone has a fantastic New Year's Eve and that your New Year is wonderful. It's a great time for a reset, if you've been looking to do so. Be the gentleman you've wanted to be, starting now! Today's Outfit Shirt: White Nordstrom shirt with tiny herringbone pattern Slacks: Santorelli light gray wool slacks with a faint check pattern Jacket: J Abboud black wool odd jacket, 2 button and single breasted Tie: Silvio Fiorello duchesse silk tie, self tipped and hand rolled edges, with a pattern of ancient villas and gardens Collar Clip: Large collar clip in silver from Fort Belvedere Belt: Milorde black leather belt with a silver buckle Shoes: Girotti purple leather (from the purple cows) Oxford dress shoes Socks: A nearly perfect purple match with these midcalf socks from Southern Scholar, purple background with white plus signs
