🍂 Toughest Fall Fabric to Style
Every fall fabric has personality - but not all are easy to pull off. Corduroy brings texture but can look dated fast. Tweed screams classic, yet too much can feel costume-like. Flannel is cozy but casual. Velvet? Sharp and bold… if you’ve got the confidence. So here’s the question:👉 Which one gives you the hardest time to style and why? Let’s trade notes and see who’s mastered the trickiest textures of fall.

2 months without a drink
Two months without alcohol — and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my mental health. The turning point came the morning I nearly cancelled plans to finally meet my celebrity crush at a Comic Con in London, Danielle Campbell - The Originals. I’d had a few drinks the night before (4 beers, 2 red wines, 2 Old Fashioned’s and Tequila Rose), woke up foggy, anxious, and very nearly talked myself out of going. I pushed through, had breakfast and plenty of tea — it turned out to be an amazing day. But it also opened my eyes to how much alcohol had been quietly draining me: my energy, confidence, and focus. The very next day, I signed up to BetterHelp and started working on myself properly — mentally, physically, and emotionally. Since then, the changes have been huge. My gym training’s consistent, my motivation’s back, and I’m finally building myself up again. I’m not cutting alcohol out of my life completely — I’m going to Scotland for a whisky tour in 2 weeks, which I’m super excited for, but my relationship with it has changed. These past two months have been about getting clarity back, both in my head and in my habits. It honestly feels so good to be back in control of my lifestyle again - I’ve even taken up yoga! Curious if any of you guys have gone through something similar — what changes did you notice when you cut back or quit drinking? Of course, I couldn’t post without sharing a photo from the day where I’m trying to act cool, but I’m actually more nervous than I’d ever been!

Feel free to share where you're from, why you're here, what you do for a living, and what you like about style. Are you a watch guy, suit guy, fragrance guy, or maybe just getting started? Have fun here!

Hey check it out, I got my flame emoticon back! Finished the weekend strong by installing a new Speed Queen wash machine Friday night, (shoutout to my neighbor for helping me lift it) then driving out west and hauling a load of cows back out of Belle Fourche (pronounced bell foosh/ füsh -- ticks South Dakotans off when you pronounce it wrong, even in your head😆) for my favorite customer. Washed the trailer out, read a sermon to get my heart in tune for Sunday, and took a little nap before making homemade gyros with my bride. Ever since her stroke about 2 years ago, the cardiologist recommended a Mediterranean diet, so we try to eat as healthy as possible as often as possible. We have always been big fans of authentic Mexican cuisine, so our gyros have a bit of influence from the Mexican fajitas. Instead of greasy gyros meat, we substitute Italian-marinated (made from scratch marinade) chicken or steak, and also add grilled bell peppers and onions, which also gives them a shishkabob flavor profile. They are built on homemade-from-scratch pitas, and topped with homemade Tzatziki sauce, feta cheese, and black olives. I bring this up as it relates back to CTM: (Classic Timeless Menswear, as described by Brian McGuire) Classic meals that have stood the test of time can be prepared with influence from other ethnicities in much the same way that classic outfits can be eclectically built of timeless styles from different periods, cultures and influences. I need to get my haircut now. I already sound like a rambling hippie, man. Maybe I'll take a before and after. 😉 Have a great weekend, men.
