Undershirt Collars Debate: Crewneck or V-neck?
I'm buying a new white dress shirt soon and was wondering about undershirt collars: Crewneck or V-neck? Traditionally, we have all worn Crew-Neck shirts. However, I have been leaning more toward V-neck shirts whenever I buy a solid-color T-shirt. I think the difference is that these newer V-necks aren't cut down so low that you look like Patrick Swayze 😇 in the 80s & 90s. Do any of you gentlemen wear V-Neck undershirts?

This is the first time I've ever had seasonal allergies and the daily onslaught has built up to fatigue. I hate taking unnecessary time off but spent the morning resting up a bit and trying some seasonal allergy meds for the first time. Will restart the day with a client video call and some internal meetings to finish it with progression on our current big project. At the least, the outfit is ready for the day! Navy tailoring with an oxblood-and-brown accessory story for a client video-conference day • Suit — SJ-014, SL-023 (Enzo Tovare): A navy two-button suit in lightweight Super 150s wool, pairing a 42R jacket with size-36 trousers. The slight sheen, roped shoulders, and breathable worsted cloth create a polished business-formal presence without looking heavy on camera. • Shirt — DS-010 (Charles Tyrwhitt): A white non-iron cotton shirt with subtle bird’s-eye twill, a 5.5-inch spread collar, and French cuffs. The crisp white ground provides contrast against the navy suit; it takes 2.25-inch collar stays. • Undershirt — US-002 (Ralph Lauren Polo): A simple white cotton crew-neck undershirt in size XL. It remains discreet beneath the white twill shirt while providing a comfortable base layer. • Tie — NT-040 (Nordstrom): The Walden Geo Jacquard is a low-sheen silk tie in taupe, dark brown, and cream with a small repeating geometric motif. Its warm neutrals connect the navy suit to the oxblood leather accessories without competing with the shirt’s subtle texture. • Pocket Square — PS-005 (Fort Belvedere): A white linen pocket square distinguished by its “U” monogram (funny backstory despite not have a U anywhere in my name). A crisp three-peaks fold preserves the client-ready formality while keeping the suit-and-tie combination visually controlled. • Belt — B-017 (Nordstrom): A flat oxblood genuine-leather belt with silver buckle hardware, tagged size 32. Its color closely coordinates with the shoes and business card case, creating a deliberate leather story throughout the outfit.

Thursday is the days I drop my daughter off to school, it is also the day I go into the office. I forgot to bring my gimbal stand to work today, this meant I was restricted in getting my outfit photos today. So by sitting my phone in a lower sport at the base of the stairs I grabbed a few outfit shots, plus a sneaky shot in the boardroom. I am again trying some different ideas and colour palettes, today with a Grey Suit and then some Reds and Whites, plus a little colour play of Purple and Burgundy which is a play on those reds. Todays outfit consists of; M.J. Bale Ashford Suit, crafted from 100% pure Australian Merino wool in a Melange Grey Charles Tyrwhitt Cutaway Collar Stretch Kensington Weave Shirt in Lilac Purple M.J. It's been a while.....checking in to show some progress
Hey guys....it's been a minute since I came on here, but I wanted to show one of my current projects. A couple of months ago I had to put down my 14+ year old pitbull. It was not easy, but it was definitely time for her. Anything longer would have just been extending her misery. Everything was getting difficult for her, and the past few weeks she was eating only sporadically. I put some much into her that I even had a dedicated bedroom for her to use as a bathroom. I put down a large piece of leftover vinyl flooring over the ratty berber carpeting that was already in that room when I bought the house. I had been using the room for storage, and even painted some of my project toolboxes and whatnot in there. I told my girlfriend that when Spooky (my dog) was gone, we'd turn that room into a walk in closet. We did all of the work ourselves, which included ripping out vinyl and old berber carpeting, then using Nature's Miracle on the particle board subfloor where urine had soaked through. Let me tell you, that stuff is AMAZING! Once the subfloor was treated with that and it dried completely, I put 2 coats of Zinsser BIN shellac primer on the subfloor, then we bought and installed vinyl plank flooring. The original owners just had 1x4 material as molding along the floor. I used a bit in my router table to give that a nice top edge and not look so blocky. I also patched all the walls and painted them. The original owner had created this room by encroaching on the original garage, then built a full 2 car garage onto the existing garage. Kind of wonky but it worked. They didn't however have any ceiling mounted lighting, choosing rather to mount some wall sconces on the one wall which were inadequate and pretty redneck to me. I re-routed those wires up into the attic and then drilled holes into the plasterboard ceiling for ceiling mounted lights. To explain the ceiling situation.....there is a drop ceiling they installed, that's about 2" below what used to be the old garage platerboard ceiling. The drop ceiling is only 6'8" tall, and because of the limited height and limited options, I went with some very slim LED panel lights that I managed to wrestle into the drop ceiling grid (that was not a super fun part of the job). The lights are adjustable for light color (3.5k, 4k, or 5k) and have 3 different lumes settings. That was the basic shell of the room.
