The Power of Tailoring
I used to think tailoring was only for suits, but I’ve realized even small adjustments on everyday pieces completely change how they feel and look. A shirt that fits just right or trousers hemmed properly instantly boost confidence. For me, tailoring has been the bridge between experimenting and sticking with classics — it makes the basics sharper and the statement pieces more intentional. Curious to hear: - What’s the first item you had tailored? - Do you tailor mostly formalwear, or casual pieces too?

The penultimate day of Winchester week. I forgot I had this Winchester. It's different that most in that the core color of the shirt is classified as white with a navy houndstooth atop the white. As the cuffs and collar in Winchesters are white, the base also being white is a bit more rare. Today's outfit is a cacophony of patterns with a houndstooth shirt, birds' eye slacks, herringbone vest (slight pattern), and a birds eye pattern in the tie. Most of the patterns are subtle, but the shirt is... not! Outfit details: Dress Shirt: Paul Fredrick Winchester with navy houndstooth Slacks: Dark charcoal gray with birds eye pattern (oddly, no clue who made these as they have no tag and I bought them way too long ago to remember) Vest: Hart Schaffner Marx dark gray single-breaster vest with a herringbone pattern Tie: Michael Kors silk tie in red with cream birds eye dots Belt: Nordstrom black leather belt with silver buckle Dress Shoes: Stacey Adams black cap-toe Oxfords Socks: Southern Scholar steel blue on dark blue stripes Cufflinks: Cobalt blue atop silver by Charles Tyrwhitt Pocket Square: Silk medium blue by Charles Tyrwhitt Watch: Old faithful: Fossil, cream face, silver accents, dark brown leather band

“Your Best” Isn’t Enough
Most people were raised on the lie that "as long as you try your best, everything will work out." This is false. The truth is... The real world doesn't give a fuck how hard you tried. It cares about whether or not you win. ...and if "your best" isn't enough to win... It doesn't matter if you did your best or not. You still lost. Quit denying that truth to protect your ego. Get pissed. Get sharper. Get disciplined. Get to work. Losing is only useful if it makes you dangerous. Raise your standard. Make “your best” something that actually wins. Until then... "Your best" is irrelevant. ~ Andy Frisella
