Day 9/40: Re-enter Your Dream
Today’s practice is a way to revisit a previous dream by using your breath and imagination to gently return to the felt sense of the dream and see what else wants to be revealed.
This is called dream re-entry and it’s used in many traditions as a way to engage with dream material more consciously. Sometimes you’ll access new symbols or details. And sometimes, the dream simply softens in a way that allows your body and psyche to integrate it more fully.
Take a few minutes for the practice:
Sit or lie down somewhere quiet. Close your eyes and bring your attention to your breath. Begin to breathe slowly and evenly, without changing anything too much.
Now bring to mind your most recent dream, or even a fragment from the past few nights. Choose a moment that felt vivid or emotionally charged. The last scene before you woke up often works well.
With each breath, gently place yourself back inside that moment.
Let yourself feel the atmosphere.
Is there more to see?
Are you being shown something new?
It might feel like the line is blurred between the memory of the dream and your waking imagination. That’s ok. Both are you, anyway. Lean into that.
If nothing happens, that’s okay. Stillness is part of the practice too.
But often, the dream will start to move again and you get the chance to witness it in a new way.
This is a subtle but powerful way to keep the connection alive and remind yourself that the dream doesn’t end when you wake.
It just waits for you to return.
