Just finished week 2 of the beginner videos. These along with my physiotheropist exercises (ironically enough are core focused too) have definitely helped my lower back pain.
Morning Mobility
This was a great way to start my daily. I noticed how the first exercise helped my back muscles to be more flexible. Twisting from side to side also helped my lower back.
Daily Maintenance
Reverse Effects of Sitting Daily Maintenance really helped me today!
I’m changing
I went to scratch my back today and I noticed it felt different. My middle back muscles have increased in size and I’ve been doing just about 15 minutes a day Pilates every day for the past four months. It was quite a surprise it didn’t feel like my back.
Moving strength
Not in the classic sense of the meaning of ā€˜moving with strength and purpose’, but moving the garden furniture !! It 7pm and I am doing the some Pilates ground work [roll ups and downs] , and my daughter walks in (always lovely when the kids come home to visit) and asked me to help move a full size ā€˜pub’ garden table to her house from a location she has purchased it from. After my initial resistance to the ideaIi succumbed to the evening tasks at hand . Now cut to the chase, the bench is heavy and there is just me and he strapping 6’4ā€ boyfriend, before you ask I am 5’7ā€. At reaching her house it was obvious that we had to negotiate the narrow foot path with 6foot fences either side to reach the back garden . This entailed flipping this bench upside and then lifting it above our heads and carrying it arm stretched to navigate the bench above the fences in to the garden. Anyway , I have use to many works to explain, that today I feel fit enough to do I it again and have no ill effects from this crazy situation. I have not asked how the boyfriend is fairing ;) So I am taking this Pilates win and using it to remind myself that prevention is better than a cure and the Pilates will keep me ā€˜safe’ from life and daughters :) hope you enjoyed my little life story
