Are You Getting the Emotion Cart Before the Cognitive Horse?
Emotions ≠ Drivers of Behavior If emotions themselves caused behavior, then: • Every person experiencing anger would lash out. • Every person experiencing sadness would cry. • Every person experiencing anxiety would freeze. Our own thoughts CREATE emotions THEN, how we decide to think ALSO creates our behavior.

Misunderstanding Remembering
The brain has a fairly definitive desktop. There’s only room in what we neuropsychology folks call “working memory” for about 5-8 bits of information. This has deep ramifications for what’s IN your mind versus what’s ON your mind. Here are some key considerations: 1) Just because you’re not conscious of your thoughts does not mean those thoughts are not affecting you. 2) You’ll most often notice an emotion but be unaware of your thought process responsible for the emotion. 3) You’ll often connect your own behavior with another person’s in a causal relationship, believing their behavior CAUSED your behavior when, in reality, your own thought processes ALWAYS cause your own behavior. 4) Just because you’re not thinking of something (or, someone) doesn’t mean you’ve forgotten it (or, them) ☝️ Reminder: Do someone a favor and share our Mindset Masterclass in your socials and invite others to join our journey into the mysteries of the mind 🧠 Join me in 2hours for Midday☀️Mindset as we dig deeper into this topic at 12pm CST Here’s the link 🔗 https://twitter.com/i/spaces/1gqxvreZEEnxB

MINDSET MASTERCLASS DAILY SIP
Anti-Frailty Brew: Coffee & Cognitive Longevity You don’t need a miracle pill to fight frailty. You might just need another cup of coffee. A recent study tracked nearly 1,200 adults aged 55+ and found this eye-opener: Drinking 4+ cups of coffee a day was linked to a 64% lower risk of becoming frail. Researchers measured frailty using five key signs: - Unintentional weight loss - Fatigue - Weak grip - Slow walking speed - Low physical activity And get this—decaf drinkers who sipped 2–4 cups a day saw the greatest protection over three years. This tells us it’s not just the caffeine—it may be the polyphenols and bioactive compounds in coffee that reduce inflammation, guard against cell damage, and help maintain muscle strength. Your takeaway: If your body tolerates it, coffee might be one more ally in your mindset and muscle strategy. But skip the sugary syrups and chemical creamers. Pair your brew with resistance training and protein-rich nutrition. That’s how you brew anti-frailty. Masterclass Reflection Prompt: What’s your anti-frailty routine? How are you training your body and brain to age strong? Share your strategy or swap tips with fellow members below. Let’s build resilience—together.

Dealing with Difficult Memories 🎨
Trying to avoid memories and build a defense against their surfacing into conscious awareness is a sure way to stifle healing. ☝️ AVOIDANCE keeps trauma going. Memories need not a DEFENSE but a healthy UNDERSTANDING. The brain doubles down on what we try to avoid. Processing them for accurate, realistic framing as portraits of our past is the way to curate our art gallery of life 🖼️ And, remember, “overwhelming” is something that can cause disability or death. Tornadoes 🌪️ Tsunamis 🌊 Fire 🔥 Emotions may not be preferred but they lack the power to “overwhelm”. Emotions are the smoke created by the fiery furnace of our own thought processes. Don’t chase the smoke. Restructure your thoughts to quench the fire. Consider HOW you can choose to interact with the difficult memory in a healthy way. Perhaps you’ll even find a hidden blessing in the painful portrait of the experience. Trauma related memories are never lost but awaiting an opportune time for rediscovery and healthy framing.

Smart Forgetfulness 🧠
Worried over forgetfulness? You may be worrying for nothing. Research suggests that forgetfulness can be linked to higher intelligence, as individuals with superior long-term memories often forget less important details. If we lacked the ability to NOT remember, our brains would be garbage bins of useless clutter. Join the discussion today on Midday☀️Mindset https://twitter.com/i/spaces/1DXGyqWWbEYGM
