Mirror, Mirror on the wall . . .
Who is the most narcissistic of them all? Labeling others? One of the most narcissistic traits is labeling others as narcissistic. Beware the mirror’s truth: Those quick to judge may harbor the deepest self-obsession. Pointing fingers risks revealing your own reflection. #overdiagnosis #labeling #judging #amateurdiagnosis (116 characters)

In many of your X spaces, you talk about people blaming others or situations that are within their locus of control, and just how disempowering that is. I agree. But what about people who self-blame, and blame themselves for things that are outside of their locus of control? Isn’t that disempowering too? I would be curious to know more about the mechanics of self-blame sometime. Why it happens. Does it fall under the umbrella of over-accommodation? And usually lead to poor self-concept? If the answer to blaming others/situations is to “take your power back,” the answer to self-blame is to…? It’s not your burden to carry? I’m looking to fill the blank with something catchy AND empowering. Any ideas 🤔

Stop, Observe, & Breathe In Some Nature
Happy Labor Day! One of the healthiest habits I practice throughout my day is “Mental Breaking”. Taking time to stop, observe, & breathe reduces heart rate, improves your brain’s oxygen supply, releases endorphins, and switches your brain out of the chemical stew of the DO DO BRAIN to the more relaxed OBSERVER BRAIN. Mental Breaking Tool Let my hummingbirds’ dance of life transport you into a 90 second flow state of healing. Stop Breathe Observe ☝️ Share the link to this healthy post with someone that could benefit from a peace of mind technique.

Read Your Way to Better Sleep 😴
It’s a bit like winning the healthy living lottery when you discover something you’ve done for awhile is actually GOOD for you. I’ve been doing this for years without realizing how much it was helping my sleep. Last night I was reading about bats 🦇 A randomized trial study found that 42 percent of bedtime readers reported better sleep quality, compared to 28 percent of non-readers. Those who read before bed averaged 25 extra minutes of sleep per night; nearly three additional hours weekly. Take a week to strengthen your sleeping habits with some great bedtime stories 😴 Share what you’re reading 📖

@Ruth aka Grace Rose thank you for all this wonderful advice and for the book recommendations 😃 Reading together with my boys has been one of the foundational pieces of our life. And it’s what I’ve enjoyed most as a mom ❤️ We learn best through stories. And I believe that is by design 😊

@David Gardner thanks for the response, David. We listen to a lot of music too! It also helps us move through the mundane 😊🎶 I like your idea of using books to help your mind settle at night. Whatever you choose to do, and however you choose to do it, consider doing it consistently. I’ve found that having a set routine has helped calm my mind the most. Dr. Heath teaches how the brain loves patterns. And it’s not too picky about whether those are healthy ones or not. Whatever pattern we practice, our brain interprets it as necessary for survival. So it’s good to add in healthy patterns, especially if we are trying to replace unhealthy ones. I hope your pup is well and just needs a routine check up. It would nice if vets still made house calls. There’d be so much less stress for our pets. Come to think of it, I’d probably do better with house calls too—for both the vet and doctor—as I find those trips to be stressful 😂
Help
Have anybody else having trouble getting on X? I have downloaded it and it's jus not letting me in keeps saying something went wrong.

@David Gardner that’s a good question, David. I’m sure Dr. Heath will get back to you shortly. I went ahead and opened an account on X, but I don’t use it for anything other than listening to spaces. It was easy to set up. You just choose a name and answer a few questions about your interests (for ads and accounts to follow I guess). Then choose, I think it was 10 accounts to “follow” (X offers suggestions based on your interests so you just pick a few) so you have something in your feed. That’s all I remember. It’s free and I don’t do anything else with it other than use it to access the learning.
