Mindful Monday - Why Gratitude Matters
I love this quote:
"Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance."
Establishing a gratitude practice is a great way to explore this.
We cover this in more depth in Module 6 of our self-paced Mindset Mastery Course (in our Classroom here).
This isn't about pretending everything is fine - This is about rewiring your brain for resilience.
You can be:
-Grateful for your support system AND struggling with health
-Grateful for small joys AND grieving losses
-Grateful for progress AND frustrated with setbacks
-Grateful for your body's resilience AND dealing with chronic illness
Our gratitude helps us traverse all the difficult things, when we are consistent.
And studies have shown that after 8 weeks, there are MEASURABLE changes in brain structure:
-Increased gray matter volume in gratitude-processing regions
-Stronger connections between prefrontal cortex and reward centers
-More activity in areas associated with compassion and altruism
-Decreased activity in fear/threat centers
This is powerful stuff!
Check out our Mindset Mastery Course to start building your mindfulness practice, including gratitude work.
And drop a comment below and let us know 1 thing you are grateful for and why. 💚
