Bone Broth: Liquid Gold for Your Gut and Joints 🦴
Bone broth is not a trendy superfood. BUT, it is one of the most healing, nutrient-dense whole foods you can consume. And it's been used for thousands of years because it WORKS. Here's why... When you simmer bones for 12-24 hours, you extract: - Collagen - Rebuilds your gut lining (the barrier that keeps bad stuff out) - Gelatin - Seals intestinal permeability ("leaky gut") and reduces inflammation - Amino acids (glycine, proline, glutamine) - Repairs and heals gut tissue - Minerals (calcium, magnesium, phosphorus) - Absorbs into your bones and joints - Hyaluronic acid - Lubricates joints and reduces pain For your gut: If your gut lining is damaged (from processed foods, inflammation, stress), food particles escape into your bloodstream. Your immune system freaks out. Inflammation spreads. Bone broth seals that lining. Heals it. Restores it. Result: Better digestion. Better immunity. Better nutrient absorption. For your joints: Collagen and gelatin literally rebuild cartilage and joint tissue. If you have joint pain, stiffness, or arthritis—bone broth is medicine. Not a supplement. Not a powder. Real food. Here's the ritual - Instead of coffee tomorrow morning, try this: Sip bone broth like you'd sip coffee. Warm it up. Add a pinch of sea salt. Grab your favorite mug. Sit with it. Breathe. Let it warm you from the inside. You're not just drinking broth. You're feeding your gut and joints with every sip. Why this works as a morning ritual: ✅ Warm liquid settles your nervous system (way better than caffeine jolt) ✅ You're starting the day with healing, not stimulation ✅ Minerals absorb better on an empty stomach ✅ It's grounding and intentional ✅ You can still have your coffee after if you need it How to make it: Throw bones (chicken, beef, or fish) in a pot with water. Add onion, garlic, apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper. Simmer 12-24 hours (shorter in an InstaPot). Strain. That's it. Roast them in the oven ahead of time for some added depth of flavor.

@Jeanna Finch I can’t exactly remember but a fairly long time. However, I did switch over to low FODMAP bone broth so I look for options that don’t include alliums or allium extracts. And I’ve done that since my SIBO diagnosis/treatment. If I do have any bone broth that is not low FODmap I can absolutely notice the difference with bloating.

@Jeanna Finch no I don’t but I have cooked meals ( something needed stock) where I have had enough of broth created ( usually veggie or fish/turkey) and save that.
