And I recently came across a Buddhist story that's over 2,500 years old.
A king couldn't control his habit of overeating rice.
The Buddha didn't put him on a diet.
He didn't shame him.
He didn't tell him to use more willpower.
Instead, he gave him a simple phrase to repeat before every meal.
That tiny interruption changed the king's life.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized:
This isn't really a story about rice.
It's about why most people fail to change.
We try to rely on motivation.
We create extreme rules.
We think we need more discipline.
But lasting change often comes from something much smaller: A pause. A reminder.
A moment of awareness before the habit takes over.
I made a short video breaking down the story and how it connects to modern habit psychology and sustainable fat loss.
