Sunday Funday Strength 🏋🏻‍♀️
Today didn’t go exactly as “planned,” but I still showed up. Normally Sunday is my full body strength day at 24 Hour Fitness, but after playing racquetball in Sacramento, my shoulders are still feeling the aftermath. Old me probably would have pushed through, ego-lifted, and told myself to just get it done. But current me knows better. I knew if I forced heavy weights today, I could turn a small irritation into an unwanted injury and that would only keep me out of my routine longer. So instead, I went to F45 since today was more of a slow-paced resistance workout. I still had to modify a few shoulder movements because I could feel my body saying, “not today, girl.” 😂 But the win is this: I didn’t quit on myself. I didn’t use discomfort as an excuse to do nothing, but I also didn’t ignore my body just to prove a point. I adjusted, modified, and still got my strength work in a way that made sense for where my body was today. Recovery is not just physical. It’s a mindset shift. Sometimes being thrown out of routine is frustrating, but it is also an opportunity to practice listening, adjusting, and moving smarter. Progress isn’t always about lifting heavier or doing the exact workout written on paper. Sometimes progress is knowing when to pull back so you can keep moving forward. Today’s reminder: modifying is not failing. It’s training with wisdom. 💪✨

You showed up for yourself even when it was easier to just skip. You adapted your training to your current body feeling. Great job! 👏🏻 Honestly girl @Lena Nguyen if I were to put myself in your shoes, I would have not been able to go back to work and workout right after such an adventures vacation! 😂😂

Need some fresh air!!
Hey all! Nothing much to report here! I have yet to get on the scale lately which tends to keep me from spiraling into negativity. Working out like a champ though! I spent last week in Salt Lake City for my son’s lacrosse tournament. The weather was hot and the air was full of smoke due to wild fires. It was a lot of sweating and my lungs desperately needed some clean air. Made it home and that damn smoke followed us here! It’s been super windy which has carried all the wild fire smoke to my area which is making my little town feel and smell like we are in the middle of our own little camp fire! On top of the usual workouts, I’ve added bathroom remodel to the list. Endless trips to the trash roll off in the front yard has gotten me all my steps in! We are all going to make it through. Keep calm and remodel on! Happy Summer everyone!

I‘m guilty of saying „I’m trying …“ sometimes as well. Reflecting on it, it seems not (always) as an excuse more like a placeholder because I am yet to figure out the right way to change a routine. But I agree, either do it or don’t! I actively have to be changing something to be able to say that I’m trying. Great Sunday to you and your family as well 💕
Saturday Sharing: Mountain Biking 🚵‍♂️
Meet Patrick and my partner Mario — now when I talk about them, you can put a face to the name. I got permission to share their pictures. 😊 Both of them have been mountain biking every Saturday whenever they can, and so far both guys have been doing great with no recent battle scars. We love that for them. 😂 Today, while they were out on the bike route, a nosy bystander asked Patrick and Mario, “How come you guys don’t go on the Cactus route instead of that one?” My partner Mario, in his head, was probably like: “Nunya… what does it matter to you if I decide to go Cactus or the other route?” 😂 But out loud, he responded respectfully and said, “I like the other route because I want speed going down the mountain. Cactus is more technical.” Of course, I had to ask, “Wait… what does technical mean in mountain biking language?” Because I’m still learning this mountain bike lingual. 😆 Mario explained that “technical” means the route has more curves, jumps, and trickier parts that require more skill and control. So my learning for today: not every route has to be about proving something. Sometimes you choose the route that matches the experience you want — speed, flow, fun, or challenge. And honestly, I respect that. Whether it’s fitness, mountain biking, or life… choose your own route and let the nosy bystanders wonder. 😂 P.S. Patrick is the one with the blue bike and the other guy is Mario 😆 my challenged partner you get to hear me talk about.
