Hey all! I'm Gaston, 44 (just last week!), posting from Sydney, Australia.
I'm an IT Project Manager working mostly remote, which has been a double-edged sword: great for productivity, not so great for keeping me off the couch. Over time I've just gotten more and more sedentary, and last year was genuinely tough. I was eating mostly home-cooked meals but completely winging the nutrition side of things, telling myself I'd figure it out later.
Well, later is now. My wife and I had a real conversation at the start of 2026 about what we each wanted to change, and for me it comes down to this: actually showing up. At the gym, for myself, and for her. I want to shift a lot of excess body fat that's been dragging down my energy and my mood, and I want lifting to become a regular part of my mental and emotional toolkit, not just something I dabble in.
As for the death row meal... no hesitation. A slab of tira de asado (Argentine-style short ribs) with my own chimichurri, duck-fat roasted russet potatoes, and a simple salad. A few glasses of Marcel Lapierre Morgon to wash it all down (Beaujolais really does go with everything) and a slice of zesty lemon cheesecake to finish. Honestly, not a bad way to go!
Looking forward to being part of this community!
