I'm about to start collection parts to do a complete rebuild of a 12v. I'm getting a PDD tow head, PDD tow cam, upgrading my ppump, PDD exhaust manifold, upgrading my turbo. (turbo size TBD). Upgraded injectors... ( I'll be doing all the miscellaneous upgrades like studs and all that as well) Anyhow, I'm considering doing the 6.1 stroker build. I tow occasionally (tractor & stuff, 10,000 lbs or so) but not cross country or anything. My main use will be for a rock solid, dependable (200,000 mile plus) FUN truck. 500-600 hp ish? For now. I realize that a stroker setup isn't great bang for the buck, but, apart from going compound turbo, its kind of the last 5.9 12v upgrade I can do. The increased volume, plus extra torque from the longer rods *might* let me run a slightly larger turbo with little/no impact on lag, but thats just thoughts. Anyhow, background/goals stated, is doing the stroker mod a worthwhile option? How much torque/hp increase is it worth? If you did it, would you do it again?
