Tool whore in me lost lol
Not sure what you are like for buying tools. But I like tools lol. Seen these when I was out today and had to have them. I have alway swore at tighten jam nuts in electrical boxes and for 20 buck figured they are worth a try. I have a bunch of electrical to do in the up coming months.

Post rotator cuff surgery, I realized a couple of days ago that breaking loose 150 ft lb torqued nuts took a bunch of pull. So I got on ebay and found a long Proto 1/2" drive ratchet to reduce stress on my shoulders.
Valvetrain noise, 12 Valve 5.9
4000 miles on this 12 valve 5.9 engine. Hamilton 188/220 Steel Cam and their lifters. I thought I had been hearing some valvetrain noise so I adjusted the valve clearance. I did find many at .013/.014 and .023/.024. They are all now at .010/.020. However their is still "to my ears" way too much valvetrain noise. Is this a "feature" of an aftermarket cam? And it is way more prevalent to my ears than the video catches.

Got part way through today. Hope to finish up tomorrow and post results.

After all the checks I could do, I am not so sure that my engine builder installed a Hamilton 188/220 Cam. Reason being, my cam has .500 lift on both intake and exhaust at the valves. Not sure the Hamilton has that much lift. Coil Bind Clearance with my beehive valve springs at max lift: .155 EX, .141 Intake Piston to Valve Clearance at TDC compression stroke: .082 Intake, .095 Exhaust Piston to Intake Valve Clearance at closest point of 5 to 11 degrees ATDC Ex Stroke: .040 (including lash of .010) Piston to Exhaust Valve Clearance at closest point of 3 to 6 degrees BTDC Ex Stroke: .050 (including lash of .020) Tips of #1 rockers and valve stems look fine. New valve guides are evident as well as the Goodson Black Lightning Diesel Performance Valves that are nitrided. Also saw the top hat style valve stem seals and 7/16 pushrods. I have not yet heard back from the engine builder, so I don't know piston to cylinder clearance or if they bushed more than the front cam journal. I will also be asking about the camshaft and specs.
Any idea way I would be doing this ?
This video is from when I was doing @Marc Brulotte stroker engine

I was thinking you were simply setting piston protrusion, then read it was for a stroker.

@Robert Winkworth I was driving the tractors and truck at 8, but just to pull the hay wagon. Didn't pick up welding until I was 15 and needed to patch up an old jeep.
P7100 Star Wheel Adjustment Question
I thought starwheel adjustments only affected how quickly the AFC foot moves and did not affect overall total movement. Anyone have good tuning experience that can explain this to me? Here is the scenario: Been tuning my compounds; HX35/S475. Moved the fuel plate to 480cc from 345cc. Wow what a difference in torque but of course more smoke. Adjusted the starwheel to apply more spring pressure to reduce smoke. I have the lightest PDD spring in right now. I definitely reduced the smoke and EGTs, but power/torque is much less. EGTs went from 1500F WOT no load to 1000F pulling a trailer uphill WOT sustained. Manifold boost went from 57 psi to 38 psi. Obviously fuel has been cut significantly.

@Robert Winkworth Yes, I could tell during the iterations of tweaking the star wheel that tip in smoke was gradually decreasing. It didn't go away until 6 full turns. I then tried some WOT and realized I had a large reduction in power and torque.

@Robert Winkworth they are sitting on the counter. I'm waiting to install them while I teach myself how to tune the AFC.
