Single cab shortbox 3rd gen
I know they only made this in a half-ton frame. Could a cummins drivetrain be swapped in with the right diff and motor/trans mounts? Or would you need a chopped 3/4 ton frame?

@Seth Williamson I’ve read that the half ton frames will need to be beefed up with cross members to hold up to the torque as the gas engine frames are built lighter. In saying that a reg cab short box I doubt u will ever hook up with 500hp so most likely will not matter.

Sorry Seth just reread what I sent. Brain fart and sounded dumb lol. Went back to the blog I was reading sounds like the guys are boxing in the frame adding bracing around the steering box and 3/4 springs for the extra weight. Will be a sick project.

Big Thanks
Massive thanks to CUTTERUP AUTO MACHINE & Diesel injector testing for line boring, oringing, testing head and rebuild with 60lbs over intake and exhaust spings, valve seats, etc. Little bit of clean up, paint and order more parts. Appreciate it thank you for the wicked work and great communication.

Getting closer. Been getting all the rust off the block and head few more hours yet before ready to paint. Picked up my Ppump today. Extremely happy with the work manship and blessed that it got blasted haha.

Cleaning of bolts I picked this up recommended by a mechanic I know 1 cup of this to 10cups warm water let sit for a day. Check and leave in if necessary. Something to look at.

VE rebuilt/upgrade
Thoughts on a machinist doing the rebuilt/upgrade on a VE pump? I have had it apart partially before. Just being north of the border, sending it to Ratman would take forever and $$$... Thoughts?

Non inter cooled pistons.
Question any of you using non IC pistons in your 12 valve. From what I read they are superior in high HP/ high boost builds. The inner bowl is larger in a non IC piston, they are designed for more heat and pressure. What are your thoughts and does anyone know at what HP/boost are they recommended for?
