This is how I manage Roast & Promote and establish the lines between what is constructive roasting and offensive/hurtful. A lot of people got their reference of roasting from comedians roasting and places like Reddit. This place is different!
Here are some of the criteria I use:
- People will submit their work to be roasted not themselves. You point out the flaws at someone's work not on the people posting. We all have flaws in our work and that's what's going to be roasted here. Critics directly on the person posting will be taken out. If you're willing to get better at what you do, you will benefit from some roasting. Don't leave your business raw.
- Offensive language and unhelpful comments are not acceptable. Stuff like "this website sucks, it's so ugly", "wow what a ridiculous post", "wow that was stupid". That's not helpful, it's just being a troll. I'll moderate this place very well to take out such comments.
- Be specific. Just saying "this is ugly" without specifying why is not helpful. Put some effort on your post. The intent is not to hurt, but to help.
The community exists for 3 months now and I'm not concerned at all by people being rude inside. Skoolers are amazing and the roasters get the gist.
I have awesome members that are willing to give you all they have when you make a roast request!
