Why I Created Empowering Animals

Hi, I'm LM Sharron.

Animals have been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, they have led me on some incredible journeys and introduced me to some amazing people.

In 1996, I founded C.L.A.W.S., a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) organization dedicated to helping feral cats. My agreement with property owners was simple. I would cover the cost of spaying and neutering the cats, and in return they would provide food, shelter, and water in exchange for their mousing services. Through this effort, more than 500 feral cats were altered and cared for. Whenever kittens were born, they were placed through a local no-kill shelter and adopted into indoor-only homes.

My passion for animals eventually led me into wildlife rehabilitation, where I had the privilege of caring for orphaned and injured wildlife. While I loved working with all species, I developed a special fondness for skunks. They are some of the most loving, playful, intelligent, and misunderstood animals I have ever known.

Over the past 10 years, I have served as an animal chaplain, celebrating the deep bonds we share with animals and helping people navigate the loss of beloved companions.

Everything you see here grew out of those experiences.

Empowering Animals was created to connect people with meaningful ways to help animals and support organizations making a difference.

Love Doesn't Stink was inspired by an orphaned skunk named Tami Tango and was written to help people see skunks through a different lens.

Cause & Chaos Graphic Tees was created to combine humor, heart, and compassion while giving back to animals through every purchase.

My hope is that Empowering Animals will inspire you to help an animal, support a cause, learn something new, or simply smile . ❤️🐾
