The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust shared the most beautiful video called Every Step of an Orphan’s Journey. What touched me most wasn’t just these precious little lives losing their mothers… it was the dedication behind the scenes. These Keepers give their hearts completely to these babies, and a lot of the time it is 24/7. Day and night feedings, comfort, patience, protection, pulling up a place on the floor with them, and love through every fragile step of recovery. These elephants arrive terrified, grieving, sick, and alone… and somehow these incredible humans help them learn to feel safe and loved again. They give them another family to grow up with and eventually join a herd in the wild to continue the life they were born to live. It’s easy to forget that conservation is not just about saving animals. It’s also about the people willing to dedicate their lives to them. This is one of the reasons I created Empowering Animals. To share the stories behind the organizations, the people, and the animals that remind us how much compassion still exists in this world. Hi everyone. ❤️ It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, so I wanted to reintroduce myself again. I’m LM, creator of Empowering Animals, a community built for people who love animals and want meaningful ways to help them through education, wildlife awareness, rescue stories, and support for trusted animal organizations. Over the past several months, I’ve been spending a lot of time quietly building, creating, learning, and reshaping the community into something that feels even more heartfelt, educational, supportive, and fun. Animals have been a huge part of my life through rehabilitation, advocacy, education, and simply loving and respecting the lives we share this world with. I’m looking forward to becoming more active again and reconnecting with people who care deeply about animals too. 🐾
