My Why
I have been a Licensed Therapist for over 25 years and for the past 15 had a successful private practice. Then, New York State changed the rules.
They introduced new requirements for insurance billing called Diagnostic Privilege. Because my master's degree was completed before these specific hours were mandated, the state effectively decided that a quarter century of clinical experience, thousands of clients, and deep institutional work suddenly did not count unless I went back to graduate school (and there are no grandfathering pathways).
At this stage of my life and career, I am not going backward to jump through bureaucratic hoops.
The hardest part of this systemic shift is the impact on clients.
Come June 2027, providers without this specific designation cannot associate with insurance diagnostics. While some clients can transition to private pay, many who rely on insurance or Medicaid will have their care disrupted. The system is forcing people out.
My why was born out of that disruption.
I needed a way to keep doing what I do best without letting a broken system dictate who gets help.
I will always continue my one on one work with private clients, but I realized I needed a bigger room.
I built this Skool community to bypass the institutional gatekeepers entirely.
This is an affordable, direct environment for mental health support, real tools, and human skill building. No insurance required, no clinical bureaucracy, and no state mandates.
Just humans helping humans.
