I couldn't handle one more client fcking up my copy. #featurestory
You may not know that when you hire a copywriter, you pretty much rent space in their brain 24/7 until the job is done.
We wake up at 3am with an amazing idea.
Come up with the perfect headline in the shower.
Figure out the CTA while cooking dinner.
Get hit with the most genius hook as we're driving.
Think up the perfect sales page structure in the grocery store checkout line.
Etc. etc.
So that $2500 copywriting project you thought was overpriced, ha, when you do the math we're basically only charging you $5/hour. IF that. We are ALWAYS on and it NEVER stops.
Then we hand the copy over and you... fuck it up. Sorry not sorry, but you do.
You make the headline too small.
You put weird images with carefully structured paragraphs.
You leave widows and orphans all over the place.
You choose a font that ruins the vibe.
You forget to connect the button to the signup form.
You decide you'll "improve" the email subject line.
Etc. etc.
And then you have the gall to tell us "the copy didn't work."
(Of course it didn't, it never got a chance to!)
But worse... when someone asks us "can we see some samples of your work" we cringe. Because no way in hell are we showing anyone (or linking our name to) the shitshow that now lives on the internet for all to see.
That's why I started my community πŸ€ͺ
It was COMPLETELY selfish and self-serving.
. . . .
Now of course, this is a bit tongue in cheek, but this was a huge motivator for Funnel Forensics.
I love serving solo entrepreneurs. The ones who are brave enough to get after their dreams of building a business. But what nobody prepared me for was the swiss-cheese backend systems that most people have. Or the utter mess DIY-ing everything can create.
And so I increasingly found myself talking people through their positioning. Through page design. Through HTML structure and how it affects SEO. Through sales page structure and why you can't lead with "Welcome to my awesome webpage" if you want people to buy your stuff. Why you need automations and customized 404 pages. Why you need to understand your ideal client and how they move through a purchase decisions. Why your lead magnet can't just be a "5 Tips to Success" and be followed up with "Wanna Buy My $10K Thing?" And why all the parts of your funnel need to connect: logically and seamlessly.
Yeah, I did it for all of you, all the amazing business owners out there struggling to figure it out on your own, not realizing you're so much closer than you think!
But mostly, I did it for me 🀭
