SOTD - MFK Amyris Pour Homme EDT
I got a free sample while shopping the other day at Nordstrom's. This is very much an example of why you can't really trust things on paper strips, and you really should sample and let it settle before you make judgements. On strip in the store, i loved this. I was really impressed by it. Spicy, a little sweet from the chocolate, right up my alley. But on skin, I get nothing like that. On me, it smells a bit generic, and I don't get any of the chocolate or iris notes. It's very generic, too. Like if Brooks Brothers was a fragrance. Like I wouldn't be able to pick this out of a lineup, and there's nothing that really sets it apart from other similar office friendly fragrances. It reminds me a lot of Bleecker Street from Bond No 9, or maybe even The Office of LaCoste 11.11.12, though higher end. Despite the EDT concentration, it's lasted all day on me. I sprayed it on at 7:30am this morning, and here at 10pm at night, I still pick it up and am leaving a decent scent trail. Projection was fairly strong for the first 6 hours, and even now it's still creating a little scent bubble. IF you need something like this - office safe, great for daytime wear, smells very manly, and lasts for freaking ever - then it's a great choice. But if you already have something like this, or it's not really your jam, then I'm not sure it's worth the equivalent of a car payment to buy.
