Happy holidays, everyone. I'm spendings this week at home after breaking my arm while skiing, so I decided to try Penhaligon's Much Ado About The Duke during my recovery. Here's my review. The opening spray reveals a fresh, cool gin aroma that immediately catches the senses. This is quickly complemented by a dry, peppery rose with a masculine touch, reminiscent of the rose in Le Labo Rose 31. After a few minutes, subtle hints of wood emerge, though they remain a minor note overall. Ultimately, this fragrance offers a fresh and peppery rose scent. In terms of performance, it falls short. Expect projection only for the first hour, and after that, the scent becomes close to the skin. By the fourth hour, it’s hardly detectable. While I agree that this fragrance exudes a mature, masculine rose aroma suitable for any man who appreciates the note, its price does not quite match its performance. For a similar scent with better longevity, I recommend trying Le Labo Rose 31, which offers a slightly woodier profile.

I've wanted this for a while and finally found it at the right price point ($148.00).
