Whilst this ain't Mancera's first rodeo with a Cherry note, this 2024 release serves as the house’s modern, more polished take on the cherry trend. Previous releases from Pierre Montale included Wild Cherry and the popular Tonka Cola. However this new addition shifts the focus toward a lipsticky, powdery floral-gourmand profile. A stark contrast to the darker, boozy cherry profiles like Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry. This is ap clean cherry. It doesn’t lean into the medicinal cough syrup or heavy almond/marzipan vibes that many cherry scents fall into. Instead, it’s a vibrant, candied fruit supported by a heavy dose of powdery iris. The blast of the first spray is juicy black cherry and sparkling citrus. It feels like a high-end cherry soda or a cherry-flavored gummy bear. The Calabrian lemon and bergamot provide a zest that keeps the sweetness from feeling heavy or syrupy immediately. As the citrus fades, the fragrance shifts into a powdery, floral territory. The Heliotrope is the star here, giving it a soft, almond-like fluffiness. The Iris adds a touch of the powdery lipstick vibe. You’ll also notice a hint of earthy patchouli that grounds the fruitiness. The finale is a classic Mancera signature: creamy Madagascar vanilla and white musk. The cherry is still there, but it’s now a soft whisper over a clean, slightly sweet, skin-like base. Whilst Mancera tend to give a beastly performance, Cherry Cherry holds up well, but is slightly more elegant and less aggressive than some others. You will get a good 6 to 7hrs here and it will hang onto clothes forever. Projection is strong for the first 2 hours, after which it settles into a moderate, noticeable scent bubble. It leaves a beautiful, trail behind you. It’s not a room-filler like Red Tobacco, but it’s definitely not a skin scent. This is quite versatile with the citrus allowing it to work in warmer seasons, while the vanilla/patchouli depth works for Autumn and Winter. This will work well for those casual outings, date nights, or even office wear. If you like cherry but find scents like Lost Cherry too dark or Burning Cherry too smoky, Cherry Cherry is your perfect middle ground. It is bright, powdery, and lasts all day.
