SOTD: Maison Francis Kurkdjian Amyris Homme
First spray was around 12:15 p.m. and I wanted to really track how this one behaves on my skin. 12:15โ12:20 (opening): Right off the bat, I got a dry, aromatic impression that actually came across a bit tobacco-like to me. Looking at the notes, that surprised me since the opening is mandarin and rosemary. I didnโt get a bright citrus blast, but more of a rounded, dry aromatic feel. Around 12:30 p.m.: The opening stayed very smooth and understated. Still no sharp citrus pop, and that initial dry aromatic character was lingering. It felt elegant, but very subtle. By 12:54 p.m.: This is where it got interesting. I honestly couldnโt clearly pick up the chocolate, coffee, or coconut that are listed in the heart. I got a faint powdery texture, which might be the iris, but even that was very soft. At this point, it felt like my nose might be going a bit anosmic to the scent, because I wasnโt really detecting much beyond that original dry, tobacco-adjacent impression. Overall, this wears extremely smooth and low-contrast on my skin. Nothing jumps out or announces itself. It feels more about texture and elegance than clearly defined notes. Very refined, but also very easy to go nose blind to if youโre actively sniffing for changes. I going to call this one for today. Itโs a great sense, but Iโm not gonna be able to do a breakdown of it.
