Monday Scent of the Day — Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum 🔵
Today called for something a little more deliberate. I have a meeting with my attorney, and while I certainly wanted to wear a fragrance I enjoy, I also wanted something that would be appropriate for the setting — polished, professional and present without being overpowering. So today I reached for Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum. Sometimes I think fragrances like Bleu de Chanel can almost be overlooked by those of us who enjoy exploring more unusual or niche scents, simply because it has become so well known. But there is a reason it has become a modern classic. It opens bright and clean with citrus, grapefruit and bergamot, but underneath that freshness there is ginger, spice, cedar, sandalwood and a touch of incense that gives it considerably more depth than a simple “fresh” fragrance. What I particularly like about the Eau de Parfum is the balance. It smells refined without feeling formal. Masculine without being aggressive. Fresh enough for a warm August day, yet the woods and amber give it enough substance to feel completely appropriate in a professional setting. And today that was exactly what I wanted. For me, choosing a fragrance is sometimes less about finding the most interesting bottle in the collection and more about choosing the right fragrance for the day ahead. Today I don’t want my fragrance entering the room before I do. 😎 I simply want something clean, confident and understated in the background. Bleu de Chanel EDP fits that assignment perfectly.

SOTD Le Male Le Parfum
My son got Baptized today and went with my favorite scent in my collection JPG Le Male Le Parfum The Opening: It kicks off with a warm, punchy burst of cardamom. Rather than leaning harsh or synthetic, the spice feels rich, upscale, and instantly inviting. The Heart: As the spice settles, a velvety duo of iris and lavender emerges. The iris adds a soft, buttery, slightly powdery touch—giving it a sophisticated "classy modern gentleman" edge without ever straying into makeup-bag territory. The Dry Down: The star of the show. The base dissolves into a warm, cozy mix of oriental vanilla and subtle dark woods. It’s sweet, but expertly balanced so it stays seductive rather than cloying. Performance Longevity: Excellent. Easily yields 8 to 10+ hours on skin and lasts for days on clothes. Projection: Moderate to strong. It projects loudly for the first 2 hours, then settles into an irresistible, intimate scent bubble that draws people in rather than choking out the room.

SOTD: Elsewhere by Amouage
Happy Sunday, Brotherhood! Today has been a little bittersweet. After an absolutely fantastic trip to Houston, I came home only to find myself facing a $1,750 repair bill on my truck. Sheesh! Definitely not the welcome-home gift I was looking for. Nevertheless, I arose this morning and went into service to give thanks to my Creator. I was reminded that the rain falls on the righteous and the unrighteous alike. Challenges are inevitable, but once again, He saw fit to provide me with a way to overcome. For that, I remain grateful. Now, on to today’s fragrance. My scent of the day comes from Amouage—the highly sought-after fragrance originally introduced as Sinbad and now called Elsewhere. I was told it may be another 8–10 months before it receives a wider release, with availability currently limited primarily to Amouage boutiques. When I smelled this in the boutique, I was absolutely astounded. Despite that rather serious price tag, there was simply no way I was leaving without it. Elsewhere is an olfactory dream. This composition has an incredible mystique about it. It is deep, rich, resinous, sweet, earthy, woody and spicy, with the slightest animalic edge weaving its way through the composition. Interestingly, there is no oud listed, yet at times I get a darkness and earthiness that almost gives me the impression of one. And this fragrance evolves. Hour after hour, different facets seem to rise from the composition. Just when I think I have figured it out, something else emerges. That kind of evolution is exactly what I love about perfumery, and Elsewhere delivers it beautifully. Performance certainly does not disappoint either. Projection is roaringly large, and the sillage is phenomenal—this can absolutely become a room-filler if you aren’t careful. Six hours into the wear, the longevity hasn’t fallen off at all, and the fragrance continues to shift and reveal itself on my skin. This is unquestionably going to become one of the jewels of my collection. Normally, I’d wait until the end of the wear before giving a final score, but there’s absolutely no need today.
