SOTD: MYSLF edp by Yves Saint Laurent 10/03/2026
Released in late 2023, YSL MYSLF Eau de Parfum has quickly established itself as a modern staple in the Blue fragrance category, though it takes a notable detour into floral territory. I avoided it for a while due to it popularity with teens, but once I got my nose on it, it's extremely mass appealing. It was created by perfumers Christophe Raynaud, Antoine Maisondieu & Daniela Andrier. It’s a clean, versatile, enjoyable scent that trades the aggressive spice of competitors for a smoother, more refined elegance. Id consider it a floral/woody scent, but there is also a touch of fresh/spice to it. Built on a minimalist structure, it's said to focus on high quality ingredients rather than a complex list of notes. The opening hits with a very bright, sparkling Calabrian Bergamot. This is highdefinition & soapy clean, similar to the vibe of fresh laundry or an expensive white shirt. At its core you find the star of the show. It features a prominent Tunisian Orange Blossom. While floral, it is blended in a way that feels masculine & solar rather than powdery or feminine. The base is anchored by Ambrofix (a modern, clean amber) paired with Indonesian Patchouli. This provides a woody depth that keeps the fragrance grounded. Performance here is rather good, I get a little over the 6hr mark on skin, obviously when it transfers to clothing this increases. Projection is as you would expect for this type of fragrance, it's moderate. You get a good hit around 2hrs before it settles close to the skin. It leaves clean, pleasant trail that isn't overwhelming in small rooms. The his a versatile scent thar can be dressed up or down & will serve you well in most conditions, though it shines brightest in Spring and Summer due to the citrus and floral uplift.
