sote: Gelsomino a Freddo Ambrosia by Acqua di Parma
Translation: “Cold-Infused Jasmine Ambrosia” This is one of the decants from the @George Hernandez collection, and it is my first wear from AdP. It is actually a new product, released in 2025. My impression of the house has been that they offer nice, fresh colognes that don't last very long. Well, if that was the case in the past, it is no longer! Both of the Ambrosias that I tried were spectacular, and here are my notes from this one, my sote from last night. It opens with beautiful, aromatic, sweet, fresh, green and floral notes. The florals, mostly very fragrant jasmine, take the early lead, the leafy greenness fades, and the 1st hour leans more unisex/feminine. Projection is moderate to strong. After the first hour, the jasmine begins to slowly recede, taking on a co-star role, and the soft woods become more noticeable. They merge with the warm spices as the fragrance turns more unisex/masculine, and beautiful! At 2 hours the scent is gorgeous, sweet, warm-spicy, floral-woody, with mild sillage, and stays that way to the 7 hr mark. I had this only on my hand, running around Disney in Orlando, and I could smell it for 6 + hours, so some body heat would definitely activate more sillage. I am really appreciating masterful floral-woody blends, and I've been fortunate to encounter some excellent ones back to back. This is a versatile fragrance, but I don't get an office or professional vibe with this one. I think Spring, Fall, Winter temps, inside or outside. The sweetness is the wildcard, so you'll have to match the situation to your personality, but for me, any kind of social setting would be a fit. I recommend getting a sample or a sniff of this, whenever you find yourself near an Acqua di Parma counter! Have a great day and keep smelling wonderful!
